    -Part 4-
Okay, so ALOT has happened since last time I wrote here (part 2). Two of my bandmates arrived in NYC a few days ago, so now I've got some company. They're not interested in tattoos though, so they're off seeing the statue of liberty or visiting the empire state building while I'm getting tattooed or just visiting shops.
They look like this by the way:
So, as some of you might have guessed from the previous part, I got tattooed by Bailey Hunter Robinson last wednesday. He was so nice, and his little private studio was amazing. Lots of cool artifacts like stuffed animals and a lifesize wooden native american. The tattoo was done in a couple of hours, and the spot wasn't nearly as painful as I thought it would be.
I have also been somewhat of a tattoo-tourist these last few days. I've stopped by both Kings Avenue (Manhatten) and Invisible. Outside invisible I had a little stop'n'chat with a nice fella from Inksmith and Rogers that was doing a guestspot on Kings Av at the time. We had a little tattoo show'n' tell as well. He had some amazing tattoos from the likes of Chris garver, Mike Wilson and Tim Hendrix. Hendrix did the girlhead on his chest as you can see in the picture below. Unfortunately I can't remember his name (I suck at remembering names), but maybe @Ursula can enlighten us if she recognizes his chestpiece? Anyway, I told him I had an appointment booked with Chris Conn this week and he said "are you sure it's still happening". He had heard something about Conn cutting his hand and postponing appointments. I have to admit that I'm very worried at the moment, but I haven't received any phone calls or emails, so I am keeping my fingers crossed. The flight is already booked and payed, so I don't know what I'll do if it doesn't happen....
Anyway, I also stopped by Kings Av, which was AMAZING. It was especially fun seeing these two Ed Hardy originals and the Tim Lehi set in the photo below. The guy at the counter there was more than willing to pull down his pants and showing me his awesome Timothy Hoyer tiger too. I picked up a couple shop shirts before I left, and found out that one of them had a piece of tape on it with the inscription "Gay bird". What the what!?!

Man, there are some crazy people in thic city. That topless chick was out shopping it seemed :D The dude in the speedo banging on a floortom with kitchensupplies had the most energetic performance I've ever seen. I have a video that I'll try to upload on youtube of that guy. Does any of the locals on here know who he is?
    Then there's these guys...

Had to get a refill at Shirts and Destroy too

Yesterday (Saturday) was the time for my fourth and final tattoo here in New York. Mr Timothy Hoyer was going to do a pantherhead on my thigh to match the Lehi tiger on the other leg. I was really excited about that one, and it seemed as Timothy was excited to do it as well. Like Bailey he also tattoos out of a private studio, and I must say that I really like the experience of it. It feels much more relaxed, and I find it easier to get into a conversation in that kind of environment. Timothy was super cool and showed me lots of paintings and stuff he was currently working on. The tattoo took around four hours to complete, and now my Lehi tiger has finally got a buddy :)

Maybe I should pick up one of these, just in case I get tired of it

When New Yorkers ask me where I get my sick tatts done I give them the address to this vending machine

That's it for now. I'm sure I forgot around half of what I wanted to say, and I'm both sleepy and hungry at the moment, som my focus isn't where it should be. Sloppy english and no proofwriting on this one. Thanks for reading! :)

Any rotator cuff exercises you do will help. You can never get enough RC work. Just do it at the end of your workout.
Also just to update you guys on my training. I've decided to back out from the bodybuilding show. I just wasn't far enough along for my preference. The goal was to take top 3, and with the conditioning I have, I would have been lucky to place that high. So I'm off the wagon and eating and drinking again, oh what a life it is, haha.
My goal short term is to keep lean and ride the contest prep rebound to get some amazing strength gains.

Vibrating bone, eh? Hate it when that happens. Keep up with the pushups and I'm sure that as your strength increases, that will go away.
I used to leg press but some how it always manages to be the first removed from my regimen when I try different things. My leg day used to be squats, leg press, walking lunges, seated extensions. Now since I split my leg day into two, it's a whole lot of squats, front squats, dead lifts, and glute ham raises since I have discovered the importance of a well developed posterior chain, which leg press does nothing for.
Most people who have lower back problems have them from an underdeveloped posterior chain. Substituting leg press for squats is only enforcing that weakness. This is coming from my own personal experience. My lower back sucked and I would be afraid of hurting myself on every dead lift day. My core is now stronger than it has ever been, especially my lower back, and it's been through many grueling core strength exercises and strict strengthening of the arch in the lower back.

Thanks Jennifer, I'd like to chat. Planning a wedding and a house purchase early next year, so coming up with a number ahead of time would ease my fiancee's mind. I'll brainstorm a bit and decide between a tiger or a panther, haha. I'll PM you when I can. I'm taking only a quick internet break at work. Thanks for the info.

Squats, deadlifts and bench (add shoulder presses and rows too) rule for a reason. For me, there is no substitute for large compound exercises.

Excellent thread idea. This area is my forte. I'll put it out there that if anyone has any questions about exercise and nutrition, I'll be glad to help out.
I've been a student of Wendler's 531 for about 3 years, but now I prescribe to the Juggernaut System because of its higher volume and inclusion of sprinting. I don't know how many people are as serious about lifting as I am, so I imagine that that flew over a lot of people's heads. Let's say I lift for strength with a side dose of hypertrophy based on percentages of a 1 rep max. I am a strength sports enthusiast.

My supplementation is off the charts right now. My diet is very strict with no variety so I have to supplement to make the whole food add up easy. I take the multivitamin, fish oil, ZMA, melatonin, probiotic, vit C, whey protein, and soon a Vit D cocktail. I take a combination of all of these twice a day, once with breakfast and once after dinner. I take the after dinner dose with about 2 shots of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water.
I don't remember who asked since I'm just catching up on this thread now since I was on vacation, but for bulking, you'll want to get at least 2 grams pro per kg of body weight, like someone else mentioned. Depending on your diet, you'll want to modify this, but it's a good baseline. For example, I run carbs only around workouts and on refeed days, so my daily protein intake is higher than normal. I weigh 88kgs but I consume probably over 250g of prot a day. Gotta get those calories in. If they don't come from carbs, you have to get them from somewhere, otherwise you can kiss your muscle good bye.
And it's very ironic for a Crossfit coach to talk about being an elite human when Crossfit's goal is so far from becoming elite at anything....
