Edit: I'd be remiss if I didn't mention how goddamn classy Full Circle is. They accommodated a rigid schedule for me (I jumped on an airplane an hour after this) and Johnny knocked out a nice little memento under pressure. The shop itself is gorgeous and their crew were nice as can be. Johnny Bones has been guesting there for a few weeks. He works at Mi Familia in Anaheim. He's pretty killer.

I may be biased cause I get to see his work all the time but my man Ashley Howell is killing it lately at Acme Tattoo in Portland Oregon. The problem is he doesn't take enough pictures, rarely updates his facebook and forget about instagram, he doesn't even own a cell phone.

Just got a leopard head from Bryan Burk during his guest spot at Black Heart. I couldn't be happier. He's one of my favorite artists and I finally scored a little piece from him.

Short answer: I have a hand crusher thing that mashes / pulps the garlic gloves and I just add it after the onions have softened.
Long answer: I used about 75mls of olive oil in a pan and add 3-4 chopped onions. After about 10 minutes or when they're translucent / softening I add the 4 garlic cloves for 1 minute (I have a kind of pulper / crusher for the cloves that I find works better than chopping 'em). I try and keep the heat down to avoid scorching the garlic and in any case then I add 4-5 tins of good quality chopped tomatoes, some sun-dried tomato paste and salt and pepper. I cook it on a low heat for about 40 mins to an hour and add fresh basil for the last 10-20 minutes.
I made the meatballs seperately, fairly conventionally - 1800g or so of good quality minced beef, 4 eggs, fair chunk of grated cheese, a grated onion (!), another pulped garlic clove, hefty dose of oregano, salt, pepper, rolled 'em in flour and then browned them before adding them to the sauce.

latest food for me was kanye west's favourite, but vegan. fishsticks, boiled potatoes and a "sour cream" sauce with some dill and lemonjuice in it...and swedish classic "sommargrönsaker", vegetable mix with carrots, broccoli, peas and cauliflower, boiled and melted butter(vegan of course). food is the shit!

Got this little guy from Nick Rodin at Black Heart last week! Always wanted a tattoo with tattoos. We all know it, but I'll state the obvious here: great shop, great dudes, seriously great time.. I got the cute tattoo and my lady got a super tough eagle from Cody Miller, which I'll have to get a picture of once it's healed.

This one isn't on me, it's on my Dad. However, I started an apprenticeship near the end of the summer, and this was the 50th tattoo i've done. Obviously, there are things that could be better with it, but I was honored he let me do it (and basically let me do whatever i wanted). Jay Cavna design...

I was at my local tattoo shop last night getting some work done on my backpiece and got to witness an 82 year old lady accompanied by her grown children get her first and probably only tattoo. She got "DNR" in small fancy script over her heart. Turned out she has a bad ticker and wanted a Do Not Resuscitate tattoo. She took it like a champ.
It was awesome!

Gangster Clap makes sense, Wouldn't know what brokeback girl was but no one comes off the street wanting that, they usually see it on the wall and just point. I call this version the swiss army knife of tattoos, because you get a skull, a girl, a dagger, and an eagle in one tattoo, quite a deal for the price.
