If there was ever anything to be competitive about, getting tigers from Tim Lehi would be it.

What about roses with a black outline made by people who have been tattooing for over 50 years?

I got this one from Tony D'Annessa around Easter time this year, it's from one of his old roll-up flash sheets.

I now have 3 appointments with Tim Lehi for a tiger on my right shin/possibly onto knee and part of thigh, as big as he can get it working around other stuff. So take that @hogg.

Of course they're totally worth it, it's not so bad, blah blah blah, but I thought it might be nice to have a space to bitch about one's healing in whatever stage it's in, as we all know that all there really is to do, beyond the basics, is wait.
Today the tattoo I got on Saturday started flaking en masse. I have never quite seen anything like it with my other tattoos, which usually go from stage to stage much more gradually; it went from nothing to the entire thing (and it's the entire front of my thigh) flaking off at one time. It felt so dry and uncomfortable under my work pants that I kept locking my office door to secretly strip down and give it a little moisturizer. The inside of my pants looks like I'm some kind of dandruff hoarder. Oof.

Hanky Panky posted this on his instagram a couple of days ago, it's a Sailor Jerry backpiece. Maybe this belongs in the old tattoo photos thread, but what the hell, that's still an amazing tattoo. I love the curve of the wing.

Just back from two days under the needle. The artist was Ching, from Taiwan (as you can probably see from his watermarking of the photos). He's guesting at White Dragon Tattoo in Belfast along with his buddy Yang.
Got to do the left arm when they come back next year...

Overall a not bad couple of days. The outline and black background was relatively straightforward (on Monday). Yesterday ended up taking 7-8 hours, I think underestimated how much detail was involved in the buddha and hannya details.

While I imagine that most of the regular posters on this board are extremely discerning about the tattoos they put on their bodies (at least in terms of quality--perhaps not subject matter, haha), the idea of being a "tattoo snob" gives me douche chills.
Most of my friends are not really into tattoos, and so they are likely to come to me for advice if they are considering one, and I am absolutely happy to help--I want folks to get beautiful work and I want the awesome artists in this city to get the recognition they deserve. But as long as they're safe and clean I have no interest in being some great arbiter of whether or not their work passes my muster. They have to live with it.

Most of my tattoos I got from Carlo, working out of Aloha Tattoos in Barcelona. He apprenticed under Monga and while you can definitely see that quirky influence, he definitely has his own thing going...



Rötor is also working there and while in a completely different and weirder direction, I think his stuff is also amazing...come to think of it, that whole shop is nuts..
