If someone posts a picture of tattoo on LST that you don't like, please don't shit all over it. Even if someone ask for critique, try to be gentle with your feedback, and educate rather than simply state how shitty you think it is.

@silentspring - wishing you a speedy recovery. Your tattoo does indeed look pretty impressive given the circumstances! I doubt any of us can advise what to do about it, but I will say that there is a local old timer who has a faded old chest eagle that has a huge scar from his pacemaker right in the middle of it. It looks tough as shit. So see how it all heals and then decide if you want to rework it or not!
And crossing my fingers for a clean report from pathology.

I once started a fire that way. But yes, from a pot, dumped into a paper grocery bag, and smothered liberally with melted butter. Eaten preferably at the drive-in with the tinny static speaker hanging in the car door window.

It's been a good amount of time since I've posted here. The only real interesting news in the tattoo world is that I have an appointment with Chad K @ Rock of Ages in April. Big ol' tiger on the knee.
That should be a fun flight home.

I'm heading down to San Francisco on Friday for work to attend the Game Developers Conference next week.
Obviously, since it's San Francisco and it's the best city ever, I'm extending my trip a bit on each end to hang. I'm getting tattooed by Freddy Corbin on Tuesday evening, and it's looking like Tim Lehi may be able to squeeze me in this Sunday if all goes well (fingers crossed)!

Yep, @Graeme is right. Who gives a shit what people think. The majority of people have no ability to discern elements of a tattoo design once it is applied to the skin, let alone a japanese piece.
I had someone ask me if I had a dinosaur on my forearm a few weeks ago.

At one point I found out the gynecologist I have been going to for years had not one, but TWO 3/4 sleeves! Blew my mind and made me adore her even more (she's the best doctor I've ever had).
A lot of the ladies at my job have small tattoos like love-in-an-infinity-sign and that sort of thing. It's still exciting to talk to them about their tattoo plans even if we are drawn to different styles. Several of our male software developers are heavily tattooed with rad stuff. I'm lucky in that everyone at work has been really supportive of me taking off work to get tattoos and are excited to see what I come back with.

I have a lot of OPINIONS on the myriad of ways that tattoo culture can still be really shitty to women, but rather than going on a rant about that right now, I will say this:
Because it can indeed be kind of isolating being an (increasingly) heavily tattooed woman, one of the best things I have gotten out of my participation on this board has been the space to interact with, and "get to know", other articulate, thoughtful and cool tattooed women. I adore a lot of folks around here, but being able to connect with other ladies is particularly valuable and enriching, since I think being tattooed is accompanied by some unique stuff for us. So I am really grateful for this space and for everything I've learned from other women in the tattoo world.

It's really hard to take a picture of your own legs (especially when you're apparently too stupid to remember to set the camera on a timer). A year ago I had no leg tattoos and no plans to get any, so it feels like they're filling up fast - though of course I have tons of room left.

@Cork took 3rd and treated the audience to a quick burlesque after he dropped his drawers for the judge. I think that cost me the win. :). It was a field of almost 30 and some really nice work.
