  1. I'm told it can pull out ink. At 5 weeks, mine is obviously all peeled. Second peel done as well. Some areas still look a bit dusty as you can tell there's new skin under old ready to come out, which is why I want to make sure I'm not going to do any damage by putting sunblock on now. Been over 5 weeks since its been done.

    Thanks

  2. So I got tattooed two weeks ago and am due for another session on my back at the end of the month, so I have really not been in "need" of new work lately, but a local shop had a fundraiser yesterday for a family affected by domestic violence, and I could not resist stopping in to get something for a good cause. I got this tiny but awesome little flower that magically fit perfectly between the two larger pieces on my thigh, like it was fate! Done by the fabulous Eilo at MTL Tattoo here in Montreal. I love it. (Please pay no attention to my torch, which is still healing and majorly flaky!)

Awesome! And my wolf looks exactly the same right now! FLAKEY!

  3. Here is a wolf head that Ron Wells did for me last night at Congress St Tattoo, in Portsmouth, NH. Not sure if you can tell by the pics, but it's on my right forearm, up close to the elbow. LOVE IT! Great experience, Ron is an awesome dude.

Also had the pleasure of meeting @Graeme, and @Pugilist, who drove down from Canada for an appt with Ron as well. Pugilist got something amazing, but i won't divulge as I haven't seen her post a pic here yet.. but I did see it on instagram and it is completely and totally sick.

true to iphone form, the pics are pointing the wrong way, which is annoying as can be.

  4. I usually take a good 14 days for a full peel, but then I usually have a very light secondary peel a few weeks later. I've read that it takes roughly 45 days for a tattoo to fully heal.

also, I had a few spots in my most recent tattoo that took much longer to heal than others. In the end, all turned out just fine.

i think your tattoo looks great. That black lettering healed perfectly. I think you just need a little patience with the red, but i'm sure it'll turn out fine for you.

  5. I agree with the whole "don't judge a book by it's cover" bit. But it looks like that doctor is doing exactly what most would be, and that is covering up his tattoos when he's at work.

I just got a forearm tattoo. Something that I've wanted to do for years and years, and finally just said "screw it, i'm doing it." I've been in the same company for years, and am very respected for the work I do. Our divisional vp was one of the first to receive the pics from me via text, and he loved it.

However, if I was in a meeting with higher ups that I did not know, I would roll my sleeves down. Pretty simple.

My wife, who is not a tattoo person, but doesn't mind mine, asked me once how a forearm tattoo would help my fare in a job interview. I responded that the fact I was wearing a short sleeve shirt to a job interview would probably hurt me more. It was sarcasm, as I would always wear a suit to a job interview, and no one would see it.

  6. hi-

Just joined, and did the proper introduction in another post.

Have to say, there are some amazing tattoos posted here. So much fun to browse through all the posts.

Here are a few pics of a tattoo I got on August 6th, at Congress Street Tattoo in Portsmouth, NH. (sister shop to Hobo's if you are familiar)

The artist is a guy by the name Tony Sellers (or Fat Tony) and the tattoo itself is a design based on a sketch out of Martin Lacasse's 365 book.

This is my first forearm tattoo. Kind of a big move for me.

The first two pics are when it was first done, and the third is about 3 weeks later.

    thanks for looking.

(for some odd reason the pictures are all pointing the wrong way, very irritating.)

  7. Just want to introduce myself after properly joining. I've been lurking for a few days now and decided to join after reading all of the very cordial and respectful posts here. Seems like a real nice bunch of folks on this forum.

Just got a new tattoo after a few year hiatus. Got my most recent from a very talented Tony Sellers at Congress Street Tattoo in Portsmouth. Maybe one day I'll figure out how to post a pic of it.

Caught the bug again and plan on going to see the very talented Dave Leonard at mayhem ink for my next one. He's done one of mine and I owe him another visit.

Have a great labor day weekend!

    Rob
