I love the heat and humidity. Nothing suits me more than hiking up and down city streets in 90 degree weather. I like A/C at home, but can live without it. I'm also sympathetic to everyone who doesn't like it, and as @oboogie   pointed out it can be very dangerous for some. On the hottest days we used to check in on our elderly friends and relatives. @Graeme is right too about the coldest days up here. There are only a few that are truly brutal, and if you are well-dressed for it, it can be quite a nice experience.                     

I popped into a shop on a whim a couple of weeks ago and got a ghost tattoo. It looks like a cross between an onion and a squid.
My wife says it looks like a ghost.

35 years celebrated yesterday! Judy has no ink, and was a little surprised when, at 62, I started. She now actually likes a few of them (although I doubt she would ever get one or become a tattoo "fan"), and is growing to like all but the one that I am getting lasered to be corrected. For the same reason that I hate it - too dark and too poorly done. I will then have it redone properly and we will both love it!

Little late here. Got this one waaayyyy back in November of 2015 from Chad Koeplinger while he was at Tattoo Paradise in DC. Tough to get a good pic because of the way it wraps, but you get the idea.

@Mark Bee Is that supposed to make me feel better?  I'm normally forgiving of an artist's mistakes, but this uneven handle is going to drive me crazy! I need to stop by at another shop in the same town sometime to let another guy who tattooed me get healed photos of what he did, so I figure I'll just pop in to both shops someday.

I'd love to collect watches. Way too pricey for me, though. Instead, I've been collecting fountain pens (new and antique) for the last few years. I must have a thing for sharp instruments and ink.

My guy had a cancellation this Thursday, so I'm finishing up the half sleeve on my right arm this week. Can't wait.

I picked up this little heart and dagger at a local shop's flash event. Didn't realize until I got home that the top of the handle is jacked up.  I think it'll be an easy fix so I'll just swing by one afternoon after it's healed and ask him to fix up the diamond-y part. Don't really blame the guy considering how insanely busy the shop was that day. Other than the handle, I love it, and it helps fill in an annoying gap nicely.

EDIT: Silly me, I forgot to give credit. Atom Lenhart at Golden Ages in Lancaster, PA did this. I've been tattooed by two guys in that shop now and will probably get a second from Atom (I have an idea he would be awesome at) and will probably get stuff from the other two guys too.

Here are the end results of my trip to Denver. My wife got some balloons and I got a praying mantis. Both by Destroy Troy at Til Death. Great shop and fun artist. Also, The Cure was fantastic, the beer was cold and I used Saniderm for the first time. 
 

My right bicep is healing nicely. We'll have a few places to touch up, but I'm ready to do the next part! June 30 seems too far away.

I got this little one shot eagle yesterday at the Quebec City convention from Trevor McStay.

It wraps a lot because it takes up most of my thigh so here are a couple of pictures.

I walked into a shop the other day to scratch that itch and when the tattooer saw my legs he said, "Oh - you're a collector." We then spent 30 minutes talking about the various tattoos and where I got them. It was supposed to be a quick in-and-out, but I ended up sticking around and talking for a while. I've been busy with other things over the last year, so it was nice to get back into it all again. Yup. Collector.

I've amassed a lot of stuff during various bursts of enthusiasm (stereo equipment! impractical shoes!) but I think of "collector" as implying that the person has a very particular taste and is discerning.  In a way, it also implies, to me, that there's an audience for the collecting. Like a record collector is different from a person who just has a lot of records, because the former might seek out specific pressings. I've had the good fortune of getting nice tattoos thanks to this place, but I don't have anything like the knowledge or refinement to think of myself as a collector.  Mostly I want to spraypaint this old jalopy so that it looks better.

to me a "tattoo collector" is one like me,
I consider myself a collector,
IMO a "tattoo collector"  is one who collects several different styles from several different artists.small and large pieces.
I have some tattoos from very well known artists,and some from not so well known artists,
I have some amazing tattoos and I have some not so amazing tattoos LOL,but they are mine and I like all my tattoos.
most of my tattoos do not really "go together" or stay with a particular theme,
I have full arm sleeves,but they consist of many different pieces and styles,some pretty small some large,some very old some new,the same goes for my legs,
I have a mix of  color tattoos and  B&G,I have some fineline and some bold line pieces,
I get a idea of the next piece and artist by how I feel at that moment,although I do now have a plan since I am running out of room,
my collection started in the early 80's and has been done by artists from texas & california & Hawaii.I like traveling  to get work done,I like getting convention tattoos also.
so that's my take on what a "tattoo collector" is.  
 

If I intentionally curate and decide what tattoos to get on me and where (which I do), then I am a collector. It's so weird to me that this is such an issue. To each her own, however. Call yourself whatever you want!
