  1. For some reason I'm having a hard time imaging tattoos on my inner biceps. I know I'll get both covered eventually, but I just can't visualise how they would look. After some quick googling, it seems that lettering is a popular choice (which definitely isn't something for me). Anyway, I'm rambling... Just show me your inner biceps please.

    my right arm,inner bicep,

    ya ya,I know,but I'm an "old guy" so I get a pass.

  2. But he is banned...

Btw, I know this forum is pretty liberal and you've been here way longer than me, but the language is a bit much...especially the "g" word. Not anything I personally take offense to, it just looks like a middle schooler who hasn't learned how to curse properly, and you might offend others on this forum...

ya,you're right,I must have had a few too many that day.

  3. So, what does everyone like to use as just a daily, or semi-daily, skin moisturizer? I know that it's recommended to stay away from the scented, or alcohol based stuff during the healing process. But do you guys/gals use something else after it has healed?

I just bought some new stuff (lubriderm advanced therapy) to try out. Not sure if any other brands are recommended.

good old fashioned Lubriderm fragrance-free,IMO is the best,

a freind of mine likes cocoa butter, but I don't like that for daily long term use because it stays a little greasy,it's good for during the healing process though IMO.

  4. Shoot, I just turned 60 and I'm still in the game. I have had old faded work done over, same tattoo just with a new paint job and they look great. I've had older work expanded upon. I've broken new ground this year too. So aging tattoos.. a total cop out.

yep ! I agree,I'm 55 now, been getting tattooed since 1983,back in those days you just picked a piece of flash off the wall,I have a lot of old work, some brand new ones, and many in between all these years, and they all look good IMO,and I have more planned.

my wife didn't have any tattoos when we got together 10 years ago,she has one small leg piece now.she has always liked my tattoos.

  5. hey guys. haven't read through this entire thread. just had a really weird (and hurtful) experience with someone I have been intimately involved with for four years. We dated for a year and then broke up, but we have been best friends for the last three. (both of us have dated other people in this time and blah blah, tho have spent the majority of our time with each other.)

I always have thought that if a person is going to love another romantically or friends,

love is based on accepting them for who they are,

    inside & out.

beez,IMO he doesn't deserve to be in your life,if he would say something like that to you.

  6. spam.jpg

and if I try and reply to his PM,I get this>

IMO this #$%&* dickhead should be banned !

  7. What do you think "moderating" means?

    .

You understand the mods are just regular members right? They aren't elected officials or gods.

it means it should be done by the members that are actually assigned to be moderators, that's all I was saying :(

    I know what it means,

nevermind, this has gone far enough. have a great day :)

  8. Well, I disagree that anyone should post anything they want without fear, and this notion of policing.

I'm not interested in a forum where there is random spewing of whatever someone wants without some thought about the atmosphere of the forum. Just because it's the internet doesn't make it the wild wild west - that's why so many other forums suck. And just because it's public doesn't mean it's fair game. And just because it's public doesn't mean that this site doesn't cost someone money to run...and they sorta get a say about how things go.

If someone isn't interested in lurking and checking the place out, and getting a feel for the atmosphere and expectations, then move along. Think of it like a big gathering, party, club ... there are always some social "rules" you need to be aware of. Standing in the middle of the room and announcing that you don't like the social rules doesn't endear you to anyone, and you will likely be ignored, given the hint, or escorted to the door.

If it's topical news, start a thread. Make sure it goes in the right sub-forum. If it's not interesting or the issue is resolved, the thread will naturally die off. If it's clear the poster hasn't wandered around here and gotten a feel (e.g., "what inks should I be using"), then yes, people will get testy, because the poster didn't read the guidelines. If it's genuine, no one is going to get bent. If you cop an attitude or appear to be coming to the party ready to be offended, then prepare to get "policed."

    $0.02.

again,IMO like I said,as long as the topic is in the correct sub forum, spew away ! and again also,IMO it is the wild wild west in a way, especially on an adult tattoo related discussion forum.

if the mods don't like something they will tell us.it's not up to the other regular members to moderate.

  9. so here is my input, this is a "discussion" forum,as long as the thread is put in the appropriate forum or sub forum IMO it should be ok,but unfortunately some people think they are mods when they are not,and feel they need to police the boards,if a rule is broken then a "moderator' will let you know, otherwise,as adults in a public discussion group we should be able to post ANY questions or thoughts without fear.Threads don't take up much server space and if anyone doesn't like a topic then they shouldn't look at it.

  10. Holy shit. I just did an all day sit for my back while on the rag and hot damn it was horrible! Last sit was no problemo but this made a thousand percent difference!

    LMAO !

    sorry but that's sounded funny.

  11. This is interesting, I found that scale on the web, trying to make sure I haven't picked the worst spot for my first tattoo (upper right shoulder). I'm hoping I can make it for three hours without having to take too many breaks... I have given birth and dealt with some bad pain in my life, so I'm hoping, but I've never been tattooed, and I'm guessing the pain is different for everyone?

yes,IMO it is different for everyone and pain levels for specific body areas are different for everyone too,

    1)pre-hydrate the day before

    2)get a good nights sleep

    3)eat a good meal before the tattoo(quality food,nothing greasy)

4)bring a couple bottles of water and some candy like skittles,M&M's,jelly beans, etc, etc keep your electrolytes up during the tattoo

5)during the tattoo put yourself somewhere pleasant in your head, you can control the pain

6)relax during the tattoo, make sure you are sitting or laying comfortably

you will be fine :) don't over think the process in the days leading up to the tattoo

  12. so today on Kauai we participated in the dog field trip program with the Kauai Humane Society today, they let you take a dog out for the day with an "adopt me" vest on and they supply leash/water/water bowl/treats/potty bags and we took her on a hike and to the beach all day today, her name is Jillian, what a cutie. we had a totally great day with her. It gives the dog a chance to get out of the kennel for the day and it exposes them to more potential adopters.
