Shit, too many windows open. Just caught my error.
Anyway, for some time, there's going to be condescending opinions of women with tattoos.
Look how they portray female artists in these TV shows: Stupid sluts. Generally, the percentage of professional males wearing visible ink is much higher than their female peers. We have different standards. Don't kid yourself.
However, not being a beauty anyway, my strongsuit has always been longevity and my history. I'm not going to push my luck and tattoo my face and neck, because I love what I do more than stuff on my body. However, when it comes to the personal, take me or leave me.

I suppose big is relative to the size of the person getting tattooed too so 14 cm will be huge on a small person and small on a huge person. or whatever lol .
I don't like filler I like space or if the skin is covered its part of the art . Filler is such a shit word for a lot of effort and hard work by an artist. Id hate to ask an artist who's work I respect for "Filler"

This is where it becomes a tricky question. What is "big?" If it's 13-14 cm across, that's considered a small tattoo by some, large by others.
    I guess there's always filler.

It all depends on how specific a piece you want to end up with. If you're letting the artist have free reign and you're both familiar with the image(s) you want done, then no reference materials would be needed. If you like a specific style of Oni or dragon or samurai or you want a specific pose or other prerequisite that you want incorporated then you should bring that. Otherwise you can browse his porfolio and indicate which pieces really hit home with you so that he understands how to proceed with a drawing.

I adopted the most utterly adorable leopard gecko last night. I've been wanting a snake again for some time, so I think this will be a good transition. It's previous owner was a piece of shit who neglected the poor thing. One of its eyeballs was dried out like a raisin, it's missing a bunch of toenails from joint suffocation, and its tank was filthy with shit, dead crickets, and dead maggots.
Gonna pick up some crickets today, I have no idea when was the last time it ate. Kinda stressing on the possibility of it getting sick from its previous conditions, and hoping more toes don't fall off (there's still shed skin stuck on em).
But I'm in love with it and can't wait til it's all settled in. LOOK HOW CUTE!!!!!!

That's funny. My dad was an infantryman in the second cavalry in Vietnam, too.

I can relate to this so well working in emergency medicine and being a woman. Though most of my ink is hidden, occasionally I have to change in the shower or something like that happens. 98% of people think it's interesting. 2% think it's a license to say something obnoxious.
Staring is fine. Commentary is unheeded and unneeded.

When you get to the point where you don't rely on other people for your self esteem, it's a very liberating feeling. It took me more years than I'd care to admit.

Sucks. The double-standard of training/employing people to kill (or to support those who do), but rule-and-regulating how they can decorate their bodies, is part of the American schizophrenia. Glad my service (USArmy, Infantry) was Vietnam-era.

You know, the first time I go to a new artist, I get a piece that's smaller than my hand. Why? Photos don't tell the whole story, and while they may have fabulous reputations and their tattoos look amazing in photos, it may not be something I want taking up so much room I don't have more room later.
I think the world of the young man who does most of my tattooing now, and the first tattoo he did for me was a classic rose tattoo in pink. Since then, he's done some big, detailed pieces on me, but I really like having a relationship where we can talk openly and there's a degree of trust. I still plan on work with other artists, but I wouldn't go huge with someone I didn't have a good relationship with.

I had a good conversation about this with a tattoo artist while being tattooed. After four hours, blood sugar drops, the client starts to physically wear down. For the most part, long sessions don't work well.

If you're old enough to die for your country, you're old enough for a tattoo. Not much discussion there.

I have a fascination for stuff like this and the Russian prison tattoos. There's a lady at a Chinese restaurant a girlfriend and I like to go to, and she had a tattoo forcibly applied to her face while in a labor camp because of her religion. Super nice lady, but so sad. The amazing thing is she holds herself with such poise and dignity and considers it a testament to her faith. Makes it truly lovely.

My iron and protein concerns never go far. ;)
Let's see: Today is payday, which is cool.
Had a four mile run with my 70 year old dad, 8:15 minute miles. Took the cat on a peaceful woodland walk and had oatmeal with raspberries after.
Came to a conclusion about a family member that I've got to cut her off; she was literally screaming at me I was a no good trouble-maker while I was GIVING her money. I was going to give her an ultimatum to remain in my life, but she can't be trusted. I have to learn (like my stupid, stupid father) that people don't feel the way I feel, and they don't care about the things I care about, and love, honor, and fidelity don't mean much to a lot of people. I don't want those people in my life, regardless of genetic connection.
Talked to Mr. Muscles. It's nice caring about someone in terms of a relationship, not looking over my shoulder, worrying if I'm being used. It's comfortable. It's a nice feeling.
I have to pop into a meeting today, and I'll get my schedule for November at the same time. I'll text my artist after this and schedule getting the other thigh done so it can heal before my trip with Mr. Muscles. The left leg looks just beautiful.

I don't think age should be the criteria. I think any prospective tattooee should have to pass a common sense and maturity test 1st.
Same goes for having babies or "owning" pets.
Naturally, some people would be plain-skinned, childless and lonely forever.
