  1. Here in Ontario there are "Tim Hortons" everywhere, where a cup of coffee is around $1.50 Canadian, give or take a few depending on the size. Tones of people love the coffee there, but I am not a big fan of it. There are lots of coffee shops around but they are usually more expensive and seeing as I don't tend to hang around downtown too often I don't have a chance to frequent them. I may be a bit of a coffee snob and I like it to be just so. Usually I will buy my coffee in bean form so I can ground it up fresh and keep the beans and grounds in the freezer for maximum freshness. I used to help a guy that roasted coffee beans and sent the beans to various coffee shops around Canada. I learned a lot about coffee from him and what a really good cup of coffee tastes like. Nothing smells better than fresh roasting coffee beans

  2. As Dari has said Jake have said about getting a few tattoos and just watching the artist work (don't ask too many questions with your first tattoo or two just watch).

As a collector, when I am looking at an artist to do my next piece, I usually check out the tattoos that they have. I know they could not have done them all him/herself but maybe a few are his/her own. And I may ask them if any are their own work. If the artist has very little or none at all I would think twice about getting tattooed by that person. Why would someone be a tattoo artist with no tattoos? It would be like a judge with no robe and gavel, could you really trust that they are what they say they are?.

  3. Nah don't feel bad its all good like you were saying you get lots of snow, and so do we that's just what winter is about. Although our winter last year had almost no snow at all, that the snowmobile trail people who issue trail permits for this season had to add for an extra $10 (if you wanted) a "snow guarantee" that they were promising at least so much snow fall or you could get your trail permit money back LOL The snow is still falling here and its now 7:00pm eastern time

  4. This is from what we here in Canada have been calling the snow-magedden storm of 2011? LOL I live in a very open area in the country and I have drifts that over waist deep LOL Dragging the horse manure cart through that drift this morning was not an easy task. Is the storm finished yet there in Chicago? Its now 3:20 Eastern time and still snowing strong here.

  5. I think that for the tattoo lotions and salves, they help in the healing process but mostly help out the skin area where you were tattooed from cracking while healing. As Shotsie Gorman said "Everyone heals differently" you just have to follow the artists instructions unless you already have a killer healing method, in which case share your info with your artist an see what they have to say about your method. Also I have heard that Polysporin, neosporin and petroleum based creams are not good for the healing of a tattoo as they pull ink out.

  6. Lochlan you do come up with great topics and little games lol!! Here's my list.

    1) First tattoo.

Who: I forget the artists name now.

    What: It was a genie.

    When: About 13 years ago

Where: It "was" on my forearm. (Keep reading it will make sense).

Why: Because it suited me at that time.

    2) Latest tattoo.

Who: Shawn Rouleau, at Ink Tattoo Studio.

What: Its a sleeve of some different wildlife with an Asian feeling to it.

    When: Currently ongoing.

Where: Its on my left arm.

Why: Well it started with my first tattoo of the genie. It was not done well and I was never told about how the sun and especially chlorine from a pool (I was swimming a lot back then) would fade the tattoo out. So back in 2007 I had a cover up done on the genie and thus started the sleeve.

    3) Last song listened to.

Well I would have to say that it was. . . let me look on my ipod lol. . .Supersonic by Oasis.

  7. Thanks AlannaCA. They are good boys that's for sure. I am not that great of a rider, my wife has been teaching me. She wants me to get professional lessons I guess I will see in the spring. I do love to watch them, be themselves out in the paddock and pasture, its very relaxing. That is why I hate living in big cities, there is no place to actually relax, kick back and enjoy nature. Night time in the country is amazing too as the sky lights up with meteor showers on occasion, the stars and the moon.

  8. Hey Lochlan. Yes I did find Kyles blog on birds. The snowy owl I had spotted while trying to catch the ferry home from my in-laws, was on top of a hydro pole. I stopped the car and got my camera out and took a few pictures. I decided to try to get closer to get a better pic as I don't have a great zoom lens yet. Went I got closer to the owl it decided to keep its distance by flying to the next pole and that pic was of the owl landing. I have a few of the owl in flight. The Owl that is in the big tree is a hawk owl. I could see it really well with my binoculars but as I said my zoom lens is not that great. The other 2 are of a Great Horned owl. 2 different ones at that but both are at the Toronto Zoo. The on in the cage stays there. The one on the step is part of their show called just winging it. Its a show about different birds with the trainers. That one in the show had, had an eye injury but still loved to preform. I just added 2 more Snowy owl pics I took from a few years back.

  9. Well if it has to come down to one word I think that for me it would have to be either honesty or kindness.

As a phrase it would be either Do on to others as you wish them do on to you. Or soon you will have to make the choice between what it easy and what is right.

  10. Hey Kyle I love the bird pics. I love trying to take pics of Owls. Sort of a hobby/interest of mine. I have a few pics that I was lucky to get, and I have seen a few more but did not have a camera at that moment. You have the pic of the great horned owl tucked up high, one of the great horned owls male and female I believe, but what is the one by its self on your hand?
