My first ever tattoo!
Done by Pedro Soos at Frontier Tattoo, Cardiff.

Started my Japanese crane arm with Yutaro at Seven Doors in London yesterday. Pic nicked from his instagram as I don't have one and the arm is wrapped atm. There is a second crane on the lower arm and more finger waves. 
As I don't have to travel and I'm not in a hurry, we decided not to stress it but do the whole thing in a couple of nice short(ish) sessions. 
Really enjoyed the time at the shop and look forward to going back!

It's not so much hipster as a combination of what are often regarded as common/cliched "female" tattoo ideas.  Common/cliched  "male" tattoo ideas are usually treated more kindly.

But maybe he really, really, really enjoys that one hour...?

There's some hyper-masculine posturing! 

Also funny: he used his mother's sewing needle and Indian ink for his first tattoo - a spider he drew on himself. And yet he is pretty judgmental of today's youth who just go to a friend who happens to have a tattoo kit 'cos it's free'.

The shape lends itself to a large heart. Why am I thinking that that is not going to be an option here?! 
 

So last session today finishing up the dragon and the background on my sleeve.

Got the background done for my zombie pinup tonight. I've been waiting a while for this, so I'm kind of excited! Stole this picture from the artist's instagram. The others I took myself so they aren't too great. Can't really get the whole thing in a pic :)

I went with something classic and simple for my first japanese tattoo

Hey everyone, my name is Em. I'm new here but I would just like some honest opinions about my new/ish tattoo.

I got it done last year September and I personally think it is quite beautiful but I would like others opinions about it. And if there is anything about it that I could get improved?

I have some more tattoo ideas for the future but just contemplating if I should get anymore or if I should be content with this one by itself.

Let's not take the "don't talk about money" rule too far. Perfectly fine to ask an artist what his/her rate is and how many hours it will take and do the math. Bring extra in case it goes over an hour or two and always tip your artist.
