Agreed! My tattoos are more precious to me than almost any materialistic item in my life. The "can't be stolen, broken or lost" aspect makes a strong selling point. I lose and break shit all the time.

Better pic to show what's going on and my back tattoo creeping up. Honestly I really like this tattoo and look very much, wasn't so sure at the time about it, but I really felt like that space felt empty.

I got some Tudor roses from Stuart Cripwell, then went back and had him add stems:

Shouts to @nicky papers. This is what was pokin' out in that pic you commented on. :)

If I could do it over it would be like 8 giant tattoos
Bowling pin on forearm, crawling panther, spider web elbows, chest eagle.... You get the idea. Than I would retire from the game. Like jay z did.... 4 albums ago

when i got my first tattoo, I freaked out because it was huge and came way down into my elbow ditch. I woke up the next morning in a panic and was searching laser removal places. This feeling quickly wained.
I am a critical person, of others but mainly of myself, and I could knit-pick each and everyone of my tattoos - this line looks funny, I should have placed this a little further up, maybe that was a rash decision... you will drive yourself crazy. that tattoo looks amazing, is personal and IS YOURS. Like some people have mentioned, as time goes on you will remember each piece for whatever reason.
If you are thinking of doing something, I would consult eli. Although admittedly that would be tough to do. I have a lot of tattoos from him, and he is too nice!
Also, that first tattoo of mine is an elephant on the inside of my bicep by mike rubendall - needless to say - I am happy I did not get it removed. (it's in my profile albums)

Got tattooed today by Doc Price in Plymouth, UK.
Doc has been tattooing for over 50 years. A truly lovely man. It was a real privilege to listen to Doc telling some tales about his time as a tattooer.
There can’t be many places where you can get a tattoo while sitting only three feet away from an original Paul Rogers Tattoo machine displayed on the wall.

I'm going to hop on my soap box for a second and give everyone a little rant:
    Who cares? Really?
When I first got into this I looked at it like a business mostly... Capitlaism, blah, blah, blah.... Fuck that noise now.
Over 12 years now, I look at it like this, as my husband always said even when I first came into his shop...
"You never really see rats jumping on a sinking ship... Why in the Fuck would any smart and skilled person want to do this for a living? It's not easy, it's not cool, and it's not a life easily lived, why?"
BUT, in this case, yeah... It's much too cool, to not WANT to do it... You can blame TV, you can say it's more accepted, but it's not really... If there are still small towns in the middle of nowhere, and you needed to stop and get some help, they would look at you sideways, say sorry, can't help ya, move along stranger...
Deal with that bullshit for a good few years, you might change your mind about how accepted it is...
But while all us are busy bitching about it online, the real heros, and pros are busy, working... Tattooing and painting and putting their stuff out there. Putting the real work in. So in an effort to save time, and typing do us all a favor, just get tattooed, don't get attracted to it, between the hours, the people, the drugs, the bullshit, it's not something you can just do, it's something that does you.
    OK, end rant.
Tattooing and this life inevitably chose me, like it does with anyone that partakes it, NOT FOR THE MONEY, but purely out of LOVE for the craft, that love is the drive that keeps us rolling around doing what we do....That's my take.
PS... all the new kids and folks hopping on this site need to go back into the older parts of the forum, and read everything there that they might be thinking about, cause all this stuff has already been brought up before, while I am happy the site is gaining members, I am tired of re-reading old stuff, that's not really relevant to life, and tattooing right now.
Ok, end of second ps rant.

The shop is in the basement of a house. It's first come first serve. You wait in line, put your name on the board and go walk around to kill time. One by one the names get knocked off the list. If you are not there you lose your spot. He opens at four. I think they got there a few hours early and dudes were already waiting.

hear is a funny quote from john welborn who runs crossfit football taking a little stab at his/my own ilk
"Any crowd that shuns supplements, shoes, strength and curls is confusing. Any demographic striving for elite human performance should be looking to increase recovery, muscle and strength. The same confusion extends to the people who won’t wear shoes when they lift because it is not functional or do not think strengthening your biceps brachii through isolated single jointed movements has benefit. If your goal is elite human performance, things like supplements to aid in recovery, shoes to increase your lifts and curls to strength your biceps brachii for pulling movements makes total sense."
ps - I have been "crossfitting" (don't really like this term as i know it has a dirty connotation to some) for 5 years and love it. I was a division 1 college athlete and have been involved in strength and conditioning for a long time. It's certainly not the only way to train, but it works great for me - Like anything open source, that grows as quickly as CF has, you are going to have good and bad coaches. Somebody has mentioned the mobilitywod.com It is a great source and I am lucky to say that Kelly is my coach at San Francisco Crossfit. If I am not there doing kipping pull-ups you will find me in my garage following westsides conjugate method or running up and down my block dragging chains behind me.
Peace & Love - Now lets go pick some heavy things up and put them back down.
