Hey Dari,

Sorry I was slightly distracted and did not formally introduce myself yesterday. Yeah your hubby really lit my ass up! I'm incredibly pleased with the outcome, of course. If you're around tomorrow, I'd love to see what Jondix started on your arm.

Scott has talked me into bringing the kids down tomorrow, claiming that he won't be working, so I'll be there shortly after 11, would love to officially meet you.

I did manage to see/meet Nick Colella some days before when Scott was tattooing me and it was a pleasure.

the convention and my 5 days in sf were awesome! could have been a bit busier, but still had a great time. it was very nice to meet you dari, and everyone else i met.

luckily i was in between tattoos when the power went out, but it caused me to miss out on three more tattoos!

out of 3 tattoos I was able to nail down that weekend, I missed 2 because of the blackout. I didn't hear of anything being done for people who paid to get in, but I hope something was done.

The hotel comped me the last night from the blackout, and it was awesome meeting everyone. I had a great time even though i spent all Saturday nursing the worst migraine I have ever had in my life.

I have an unfinished Danny Reed tattoo because of the blackout.

I wondered if this was going to happen to anyone.

Sorry, dude. Was the outline at least finished?

I could have misheard, but I heard that one of Scott's customer's was in the middle of a tattoo from a guy who was headed back to Japan and wasn't going to be able to finish it this time around. And I know that Robert Atkinson was about to get the very first dot of his Jondix tattoo when the lights went out.

I just found a video of Richard Stell tattooing during the blackout. I heard that Clay Decker helped him hook up his machine to the USB port on his wife's MacBook:

mad respect for that. that's going above and beyond what I would expect from an artist

Decker spliced the clipcord, Bill S. had the rotaries, we ran Clay's PC battery dead, then mine.... We got the job done.

Wassup Hogg... Yeah. There were lots of people around us.... I had no idea there were so many people around taking video, kinda crazy.

    • I commissioned this from Yoni Zilber! Just saw it reposted on a new page called Tattoo Love Care, https://www.instagram.com/ttt_l_c/, created by @blackclaw @tttism @zacscheinbaum. Their description is "Aid-Promote-Educate. A place to help tattooers in need and discover new artists, causes and events." Check it out!
    • Hello, I'm new to the site and looking for some advice. Thanks in advance for any help. I'm just trying to get a second opinion. So I have a few tattoos, mostly all done by the same artist. A very well known shop and artist in the area. Iv never had this issue before with any other tattoos. But started a sleeve back in January and my last session was 4 weeks ago. My arm just finished peeling from the last session and half of the ink did not stay in my arm. Everything else that has been done looks fine except the top of my arm. I sent pics to the artist and he said it must of been the ink he used as I didn't not do anything different then I usually do during the healing process. He said he can go back over it but then our state got shut down due to covid19. So now the shop won't open back up until God knows when. It doesn't hurt, itch or is swollen or anything it just looks like pink/damage skin. I was just trying to get a second opinion that this can be fixed. Should I have to worry about anything between now and when I can get it fixed.  Thanks again David.
