    Am I botched?

it looks fine, you can read it and you know what it says. don't overthink it, just live your life with it. it's just a tattoo.

  3. I read the comments on the instagram photo, and the tattoo actually had been treated by both laser and saline. The person who posted the photo was not happy with the saline treatment. Quoting her comment: "I had three laser removal sessions and one saline removal. The saline was not worth the minimal results and horribly painful healing process. The laser hurts quite a bit to have done, but there’s basically no downtime (if any at all) with the healing process of that - and the results with a good laser can be pretty awesome!"

  4. I have a 2 day old full color tattoo that is extremely itchy. It feels like a pin prick at first, followed by an very intense, short itch. Maybe 5-10 "pricks" a minute, on different spots over the entire tattoo. There is absolutely no redness, swelling or pain, and appears normal in every other way. It's driving me absolutely crazy, it's been happening about 7 hours now. I have lots of large full color tattoos, so I know that this is not normal for my healing. I use A&D for two days and switch to Lubriderm lotion, I have used both today. There are two new components that could potentially be the culprit: I did find out in the last 6 months I could be allergic to red ink, (ongoing issues with a redwing blackbird tattoo) and my new tattoo has orange which is a first for me. However, it's the entire tattoo experienceing this, not just the orange. It has brown, purple, green, orange, black, and blue. Second, my artist used Saniderm on this tattoo for the first time. I left it on 24 hrs. I sometimes have reactions to adhesive in bandaids, but with different symptoms than this. Saniderm has been off for 30 hours, it did not start this itching till 24 hrs after it had been off. I have taken 75 mg of Benadryl to no affect. Has anyone experienced this? Please help before I go crazy!

  5. I got a panther on my arm and by coincidence it covered some gnarly scar tissue from a bike crash - about 1" x 5" - very well. Not super hairy though.

  6. This. I would call or email your artist ASAP and then schedule a doctor's appointment, because what you're describing sounds unusual and really really unpleasant.

  7. It's gross to rub lotion made from sheep gunk into open wounds. Get a basic unscented vegan lotion.

  8. Great thanks, that’s the answer I was hoping to hear.

  9. Yeah, it's a nice abstract design - but you're going to spend the next several decades telling people what it says.

    Am I botched?

I don't know, I read it before reading your post. It's your call as what to do with it, just live with it awhile and be sure you know what you want. Don't jump from one mess into another.

  12. I am a paramedical tattoo artist. We use a saline solution in place of pigment when we are touching up areas and need the pigment to lighten. This is sterile and medical grade saline from the medical supplier. We also use this when the patient has an adverse reaction to a pigment such as; itching, edema or any other discomfort. This method irrigates the area by depositing the saline into the healed tattoo. The saline then flushes out the pigment during the healing process. It can take as many as three sessions. It is the same discomfort of a tattoo. The same procedure. The only difference is saline solution is being used in place of pigment. The healing process is the same as well. It works well. Topical numbing can be used to avoid discomfort. Applied 45 minutes prior and wiped off during prep. It lasts 90 mins from the time you wipe it. Standard procedure for going on 10 years now.
