  1. It always blows my mind when fellow "artists" (in quotes cause i hate to call this guy one) rip you off. Sounds like another one who needs to visit the broken fingers line, although it sounds like he did that to himself already and still didn't pay attention to karma.

Maybe someone should email him the link to this thread and the one of the other board so he can see for himself what kind of reputation he's putting out there.

And who are these other machine builders that are letting an asshole like this come on vacation to their place and make machines? Shame on them for letting this guy continue the trend (that is, if they are aware of his apparent sketchiness)

  2. @hogg I been hearing that a lot lately hahahahaha. I went to Toronto last weekend and went into a barber shop to sell a dude one of those hot stuff heads I posted and had all the other guys working being all oh yeah you're thread wizard and then went to the tattoo shop i frequent there, and had the dude getting tattooed by my friend be all 'wait a minute! you're thread wizard aren't you' hahahahah getting famous on instagram. I'll never be as famous as Thomas Garcia though...

    anyways back on track....

HANDS!!! I've got two of em, and both are bare. I'd really like to change that but I'm not secure enough finically to know I'll never need to get a minimum wage job again.

  3. ok here's mine. was easier than i thought to photo my elbow with the help of a mirror and my iPhone.

done by Chris David, then of TCB tattoo toronto, now he works in BC i think in victoria somewheres.

People are always shocked he did the heart red and that i haven't had it touched up. It looks a little darker in the photo because I used lotion right before it was taken. It could use another pass on the red, it's a little blotchy when I bend my elbow all the way, but it's in there pretty good.

looking at these pics makes me realize i need to get some more shit around that thing!

  4. I have one done. It's a Jerry design of a heart with some flowers around it. The heart it what's right on the elbow and it's red. I remember being so scared of it hurting and then was laughing at how easy it was. Mind you, the guy who did it is pretty easy to get tattooed by in general. I don't have a photo at the moment but i'll see if I can manage to take one somehow....

  5. Wow! Fucking sick! Possibly the sickest chest I have seen! Goddamn I cannot get over this! Who is the guy with the tattoo? Is he a tattoo artist? Wish I could see that up close! Amazing!

The guy with the tattoo is Bernie Perez. He worked at Inksmith and was a pretty awesome dude. Sadly he passed away a couple years ago. He had some amazing tattoos by some of the top tattooers of our time. He was a troubled soul and hopefully is doing better wherever he may be now.

You're right though, it is one of the best chests I've seen. Shit like that makes me mad that I have titties all getting in the way of a tattoo like that!

  6. Someone claiming to be Sue created an Etsy profile just to send me a message this morning. It was again going on about the cancer and how hard she's had it and blah blah blah. I replied and told her, don't apologize to me, I'm not a tattooer you ripped off, go talk to them. Re-itterated that I thought it was wrong and suggested if she wants to make a public statement to us (us meaning the LST members who posted in this thread) to do it here and not through my online store.

@JAllen is right though, we should all (myself included) maybe focus our mob energy and influence, 'cause it appears we as an online tatto group have one, towards some of the positive things on this site like the amazing interviews and articles Scott and others have posted for us to enjoy.

  7. Awww you got caught doing something shady, better pull our the cancer card!!

@The Hyena Ron, you are a great guy and a great tattooer, you said all that was needed to be said, and you said it well.

Like it has been said many times here and elsewhere, in the end, if you are the truly talented one, no one ripping you off will ever be as good and they will never be able to take away the true clients who can recognize quality tattooing.

Unfortunately this type of thing is never going to stop happening and I commend any artist who stand up for themselves when they have been ripped off.

Like I insinuated with my first remark of this post, and like others have said here, having cancer or any other illness doesn't mean you aren't an asshole and a thief.

And to the 'friend' of Sue's sticking up for her, if Sue is such a commendable person why doesn't she come here herself and change our minds about what she did? Oh wait, it's cause she was wrong and nothing will change that.

  8. Mike outlined my back piece in about 1.5-2 hours. Including any very quick breaks. You can see a photo of it in the full back piece thread to get an idea of the size and detail of the outline. One of the very nice things about getting tattooed my Mike is that he is not interested in taking breaks, or spending half the appointment talking about bullshit while his machine runs in the rinse cup. He's a tattooer, and an amazing one. I have never once felt like he's over charged me, I've never felt like he wasn't in the mood to tattoo, never felt like he was rushing through something, nothing like that. He's always been really open about how long he wants to work on something for, and for how much money and it's always turned out awesome. Plus like the others have said, he can draw and tattoo just about fuckin' anything. I mean you could want a weird chair, or traditional sailor tattoo or some Japanese stuff and it will all be top quality work with no complaints.

Let me know when you are going to be in town, as I will have moved back to Jax by then. Oh and book your appointment in advance, when I was getting my back done I usually had to book about a month ahead of time, so coming from out of town I imagine you would want to get that appointment locked in while you can. He's working at the location on 3rd st, the # is on their website Inksmith & Rogers Tattoo

  9. it's not even like she copied some flash, she traced actual paintings people were selling prints of at that same convention. She also seems to have printed out photos of people tattoos and traced those.

You put out a flash book specifically to be copied in a way, straight up tracing and selling is still wrong but flash is flash. To go to the extent of finding pictures of paintings and actual tattoos, size them up, print them out, trace them, put it all together in a book. If she's put that much work into her own drawings they probably wouldn't be that bad.
