  1. I got tattooed last weekend by Chad Koeplinger when he was visiting Frith Street Tattoo. Such an awesome guy and an amazing tattooer, I will be geting more tattoos from him in the future. Apologies in advance for the poor photography skills, the tattoo wraps around a bit because it's really swollen but i'll post a better photo as soon as it's had chance to heal properly!

  2. @Wedge personally i just dry wrap the tattoo, however i've heard that some people do use ointment and moisturiser. Also having cling film or any other bandage on will cause heat build up/moisture/sweat but I think that moisture on a tattoo isn't such a huge deal over the first two or three days as long as its washed regularly to prevent as much bacteria etc building up, it only becomes a problem when a scab has formed and the moisture softens the scab and makes the scab easier to detach. I could be completely wrong with this but the re-wrapping process has definitely led to easier and less scabby tattoo heals for me. However i've seen people who don't re-wrap and their tattoos heal just as quickly so it's all down to your own body and how your own skin heals i guess.
  3. My old routine; keep the bandage on for a few hours then wash it before bed with hot water and soap. Re-wrap it and sleep then wash it in the morning and re-wrap it, wash it again before bed and re-wrap for the second night. Wash it the next morning and apply a small amount of bepanthen after every wash for the next three days. After that, wash it regularly and apply a small amount of E45 lotion whenever it gets dry until it's healed. This heals all of my tattoos fine but left me with a rash around the area that had been tattooed so i've tried cutting out various parts of that process with each new tattoo to find the culprit. In august i got tattooed and tried healing it without re-wrapping (which is what most people do) but i tend to bleed a lot when getting tattooed so this meant that the tattoo scabbed more than usual and i still got a rash. Then i got tattooed by emiliano at frith street tattoo in december and cut out the soap and moisturising stages. The tattoo was pretty much healed within a week with minimal scabbing and no rash so its either soap or bepanthen that doesn't agree with me. So anyway my new routine is to keep it wrapped for two days washing it twice maybe three times a day and then just wash it with hot water and pat it dry until it's healed, simple but effective and that's what i'll be doing from now on. Bear in mind this routine doesn't apply to everyone as everyone has different skin etc. but this works for me!

  4. I'm relatively new to the forum and the tattoo world but I definitely think that Frank Carter deserves recognition. I've got three tattoos done by him and couldn't be happier with them. One of the tattoos was a walk in done about a month ago which he stayed late to finish which I thought was really cool. He's a good guy who does awesome tattoos and couldn't recommend him enough. Also Miles at Frith Street Tattoo is an amazing artist, got my first tattoo from him and it's incredible. He can do any style and has a ton of cool stories about tattooing and travelling. Sorry about the quality of some of the pictures, I'm no photographer.
