I think what everyone will tell you is that's not long enough to consider it healed and that fingers are a bad place for a tattoo to stay looking good.
Welcome btw

I'm gearing up to start on my 3rd tattoo... that was going to be my 1st. I know what I want, but in my mind's eye I'm not 100% yet. I'm hoping I can describe it well enough that you kind folks can lend some thoughts or improvements.
The placement will be on the lower 2/3 of my upper right arm. (unless of course the artist says it needs to be elsewhere) I would like mine and my wife's 1st initials in script with an & between and our anniversary date above or below. That would be "held" by filigree/scroll work below that connect a heart with our daughter's name and birth date. That in turn would have the same filigree going down to 2 hearts with our grandkid's name and birth dates. I kinda think of it as an inverted family tree.
I'd appreciate your thoughts on the design and any suggestions that might improve it.
Thanks! John

I agree, it's not bad at all. It's the kind of thing that we view much more critically than anyone else. Chances are 99 out of 100 people would never notice.
If all else fails, do what I do. Make up some outlandish BS reason for it being that way and see if you can get them to believe it. lol

Please have an in death conversation with your artist.
Guessing that was supposed to be "in depth".
I, being a little afternoon challenged, had to read it a couple times to figure why death would anything to do with the conversation. lol

So my wife and I are going to New York City next weekend for a long child free weekend and this morning I was a little bored and got to thinking and next thing you know I called Smith Street and made us each an appointment. We plan to just walk in and pick something off the wall. I gotta tell you- we are both looking forward to it.
That would be great, I'd love to do something like that. That'd be about the only reason I'd what to visit NYC.
Hoping you share some pics with us.

It looks like they were all just posted in the last couple of months. Some of them just 10 days ago . . .
I noticed that too, but I thought maybe there was a problem and they might have had to re-upload them. Who knows!

It's another place that I've resigned is beyond my reach in cost and travel, but it's great to dream!

I ran across some well made videos on Youtube by Kings Avenue Tattoo. They're only about a minutes long, but still fun to watch. They don't have many subscriptions, which is a shame since they're so well done. Take a look and see what ya think.

I think the mandala fits very well with the rest. To me the mandala mimics the look of a flower with the petals and symmetry, just more of a graphic style. Take your time and live with it awhile.

@Gingerninjalove your new frog!
I have a Japanese frog or crane on my "want wish".

My tiger half sleeve was finished on Tuesday. Super happy with it and how well it's healing. Work by Kevin Stress at Enso Tattoo in Columbus, OH. Great artist and shop, would recommend to anyone. Let me know what you think!
An action shot with me on the near table.

How??
in Initiation
I believe that you have to have 10 posts before you can post in other sections. Probably has something to do with control spam, etc. Old one bad apple thing.

Amazing improvement! Reminds me of a fairy tale illustration.
Can hardly wait to get my tiger finished a week from today!

I've got one on my right shoulder and just have color yet to do on my my Japanese half sleeve on my left arm. My wife doesn't have any currently, but is getting a small one on her foot in honor of the family, the day after I finish my 1/2 sleeve. I might be able to talk her into another small one, but I think that would be it. I on the other hand, have been bitten. She may have to hide the checkbook from me.

What an excellent post! Really glad that you shared your experience.
I think it's an outstanding tattoo. From the pics, I'd say that it completely covers the old. Love the dragon!
Us 56 year old, old guys gotta stick together!!!
