still waiting for a few repaints to show up. everyone is really throwing down. don't want to give too much away but its going to be good.

ugh someone posted those noon photos in another thread... total shit. I think. The heart on the couple is one of the dumbest tattoos I've seen, ever. Just further proof that the general population has zero taste. At least on the last two the lines are clean, still ugly and look nothing like tattoos to me though.

My wife commissioned Daniel to paint a painting for us as my wedding gift. It's incredible! He hand delivered it to her in brooklyn. It's at the framers right now, can't wait to get it back. One of the 1000+ reasons I married her.

so great! i love how cheeky he is, i can already see all the hipsters denouncing their hipsterness or just hating him for that clip, i love that guy! i'm really enjoying the fact that so far every tattooer's approach to work/life has been so different from the others.

yep.. sadly there's quite a few people who look exactly like that.

Okay, here's the update. Hotstuff and Panther by Scott Sylvia. Kewpie and White Tiger by Bryan Burke. Both tattoos were done in 2 sittings, black in one sitting, color in the next.
Scotts side was about 5 1/2 hours. Bryans side was 4 1/2 hours total. I started Bryans side first but finished Scotts side first. I lagged on Bryan and was procrastinating getting it finished a bit because Scotts side hurt so bad. Bryan actually had to call me up and be like, "we finishing this tattoo we started or what?". Sorry Bryan.
Both these guys are quick as can be and for a painful spot like the ribs I really appreciated that. I gotta say the second sitting with Scott i was feeling a little nauseous and almost ready to tap out towards the end. Scott hurt more!

Then you will never ever be a good tattooer or even a decent one. It sounds to me like you are looking in the wrong direction as far as a career change. You said earlier you have a perfect job except the soul sucking part of it, I say keep that perfect job because tattooing is NOT a perfect job either and involves it's own share of soul sucking and dealing with idiots on a daily basis.

Here's one that I've always liked! It's by Mike Wilson. And if you knew the guy in the photo, please know I mean no disrespect by posting this, he was a friend of mine to, and he had and did some awesome tattoos.

I really like the simplicity of the design. The shading is so minimal yet so effective.

I'm sure he's a nice guy, and the tattoos are well done... I just feel like it's some sort of meta-hipsterism. The ironic mustache taken to a new, higher level.
Then again, I think the tattooers who dress like they're 1950s greasers are silly too, so maybe I just have an issue with people who try to hard to dress the part.

I got this hourglass done by Stewart Robson about a month ago. The black/grey badly done stuff was done by a guy in Manchester but I don't believe in cover ups, but I've learnt me lesson now :P

Respects cops (most of them anyways), but can't count on them, protect your own.
(I don't mean to cause offense, just how I feel as a small business owner, people work hard for the little they got, just to have it burned down by hooligans.)

This was shown on the news and the suggestion was that the rioters were robbing from one of their own, suggesting that the guy getting his bag robbed was involved, in some way. Here’s a clue look at what he is wearing on his feet. Now I don't claim to be an expert when it comes to looting and rioting I think I can say with confidence that flip flops are not the best choice of footwear. Poor sod looks like he's just an innocent bystander caught up in this.
The irony is that the some of the rioters and the communities they come from will suffer directly as a result of all this. Businesses destroyed and livelihoods lost. Some of those small local family businesses like the furniture shop in Croydon that had been there for over 120 years, gone forever and will probably never recover as a result of this. Very very sad.

I arrive on the evening of September 19th and leave early on the 27th. My appointments so far are Scott at noon the 20th and Grime at noon the 22nd. Lehi said he'll probably be able to fit me in sometime during my stay, but I won't know when untill I get there.
I guess the meetup probably will take place in the evening? If that's the case any day would work on my behalf :)
