So only women's bodies decline after the age of 35ish? Hmmm. Guess I should stop getting tattooed, worry about what my body looks like, and leave it to the men to get all the sweet tats.
    Sorry, had to go there.

I have a tattoo on my ribs that is about 5-6 years old. Whenever I go swimming, etc. in the summer I have always put 50+ SPF on it. It still looks like it did after it completely healed the first year, not even exaggerating. So yeah, moral of the story: use sunscreen... forever.

We finally found our furever dog! Meet Ella :) She is 3 months, very small. She is definitely a boston terrier mix, just not sure what the mix is. Already head over heels for this puppy bundle.

Are you for real? This is supposed to justify not going to a tattooer? If you had any respect for getting tattoos, you would want to soak up the whole experience and process for getting a tattoo. I love consults and mulling over designs the weeks/months before. Even if a cylon was able to draw up a sick "tat" for you, it seems like you have a clear direction to what you want anyway. Just take it to a human and save us from a nuclear war with machines FOR FRACKING SAKE.
    /end battlestar rant/cylon fears.

My boyfriend and I are hoping to drive up at least one of the days from VT! Haven't booked with anyone yet, as I am waiting until my BF definitely has his passport (hate that they changed that law haha). But I keep seeing Jim Sylvia has time still... so tempting...
Anywho, if we do make it, would love to meet up with folks!

I wonder if it would be more helpful in narrowing down entries to either limit each month to tattoos completed in said month, or on the flip side: only healed tattoos. I do like the idea of having a different category each month. For example: "August SKULL tattoo of the month" or "August Backpiece of the month" or "August Palm-sized banger tattoo of the month". I'm sure us LSTers could get crafty with it

Peony by Rubendall, fall botanicals by Grez, Sailor Jerry swallows by Scott and filler peacock feather by Virginia Elwood. Sorry that the color saturations are all over the place (the peony and feather look pretty normal). Butt tattoos hurt!!

There is also the issue of confirmation bias, which is kind of like if you just bought a red SUV, then all you see are red SUVs :) but it seems like there are a lot of factors that could influence why we may see more women with tattoos in warmer weather. On a side note, I always go through the dreaded phase at the beginning of summer when suddenly you're the "tattooed woman" and people feel way more comfortable complimenting a woman on her tattoos, but after a while, I just like to be left alone. Le sigh. I never understood the point of complimenting someone's tattoos. I obviously am happy with them and like them. They weren't forced on me, I did this to myself. Sometimes it just feels like being cat-called. Or maybe I just like complaining about people (and like to grocery shop in peace). :D

Chad Koeplinger? He just did mine about a month ago. It was a blessing that he's stupidly fast and a curse that he is so heavy handed. But at the end of the day, I think that was the best way to go. 1.5 hour large knee tattoo... yes please! Git'r done! And I also limped for close to 5 days. The first 3 I could barely walk. It's going to be awhile before I do my other knee for sure...

When Grez told me I had a nice collection started, I was like "hell ya!" I never gave much thought to the term, but the fact that he liked the tattoos I was getting I figured I must be doing something right. It's nice to have great tattooers appreciate your involvement in the culture. I think being called a "collector" kind of brings us more into the fold.

^I don't see anythig wrong with this. It seems like now that you've had a conversation about it, there's more understanding. He doesn't need to like your tattoos, only accept them. My fiance has quirks that I strongly dislike (like taking off his socks with his shoes and leaving dirty socks all over the living room, yeah...) but at the end of the day his strengths outweigh his faults. You should always value the things you love about the person (In your case it seems like your BF is very caring) and not worry about the imperfections, because surprise! Every one has them, and NO ONE is perfect or perfect for you, but that doesn't mean you can't create a life together. My fiance has no tattoos and no plans to get any, and he isn't crazy excited about mine, but he ACCEPTS them and me, which is all that matters at the end of the day. When we met I had one hidden rib tattoo and 5 years later I have a bunch, but it hasn't changed anything. Once getting tattooed affects your relationship, then it's a warning sign, but I sense there are other things going on and you getting tattooed is just a catalyst.

Years ago during college I was working at Home Goods stocking items and this (seemingly un-tattooed) customer spots my foot tattoo and starts a discussion on tattoos/BLATANTLY hitting on me. Out of nowhere (without me asking) he shows me this god awful hip tattoo which in order to show me he has to fold and pull down his jeans a bit. I saw like the side of his dick and was not enthused !!!! Ugh I don't understand the need to strip to show off your tattoos. If you want to be all badass then get them where they show...
I never indulge people who want to see them if it means I have to bare part of my body that is normally covered up.

It's funny, because as of late I keep forgetting that my tattoos are not "normal" per se and I become confused when people stare and what not. I often have to remind myself I have them or that they're showing.

^Exactly. I don't understand using pasties over the nipples if the rest of your breasts are showing. It's like bathing suits vs. bras. Same difference. Actually... I always thought bathing suits tended to be more revealing, yet when a woman is in a bra it's technically more risque.
