for me personally- i don't think i could be with someone with no tattoos- not because i'm not attracted to them, but because of work/life balance alone. i am currently a tattoo apprentice but spent many years managing studios and just don't know if a non tattooed person would have the same appreciation for why i'm still at work 2 hours after the shop has closed, or why i'm drawing for this weeks appointments instead of watching tv with my partner, or why when going on holidays does it have to be planned around wanting to check out a convention somewhere or getting tattooed by someone specific.
that said- i'm lucky i have an amazing boyfriend of nearly 2 years who is pretty much financially supporting us through my apprenticeship. he was already pretty tattooed when we started dating but has become more tattooed and made better tattoo choices since we've been together.

I was gonna say Matt C. otherwise Adam Kitamoto from ten-ten (or any of his Japanese guest artists that frequent his studio) or Geordie Cole from Tattoo Magic all do amazing work

I spent my Saturday afternoon with Jeff Zuck, finishing up the black in my backpiece. It was a fantastic experience as always. Jeff is one of the nicest, raddest dudes I've had the pleasure of meeting in or out of the tattoo world. With the exception of a few spots, shading the butt wasn't as bad as I had psyched myself up for. A close friend of mine got a really awesome fox/owl totem from Jen Munford at the same time (it's up on her IG @threejenbirdmun). Needless to say, my (very pregnant) fiancee spent the afternoon being real jealous.

Heres a different take on the classic by incredible Japanese artist Hiroshi Hirakawa .Hes just joined the staff at three-tides Osaka, i'm not sure of his role perhaps someone can shed some light ?

my girlfriend (going on 7 years!) has zero tattoos. when were first started dating and i was still in my apprenticeship she had a bunch of ideas for tattoos. i kept telling her to wait until i was better because i didn't want to be the one putting a bunch of poo all over her...so i think her need to get tattooed has waned, and now that i feel like i could pull off some cool shit, she is not interested...C'est la vie. i figure one of these days she'll come around to it again. So i guess my stance is a little skewed because she was and still is tattoo free. But she has always been extremely supportive of my career or whether i am getting more work done. I love that girl. And for those curious, yes i am going to propose soon. she keeps telling me that after 7 years it may be too late for her to say yes...haha...
but i would say if i was ever in the wild again, i don't think i would mind either way..tattooed or not, if ya got it, ya got it!

Thought I would post a pic of my front, It seemed to be a long journey and now it is near completion it feels slightly strange, anyway as planned we will be putting a dagger through the neck and are still undecided on what will fill the space between the dagger and what is already there, also we are waiting to see if it will need anything else after it heals and final touch up session.
