Here's the little Bob Wicks piece I got from Ron Wells last weekend. The day before Stephanie Tamez lined my knee (ouch!). Hell of a fucking weekend. Photo from Ron's Instagram. -
Hunter Wilson got a reaction from MJH IV in Are you ever going to stop?
From ages 17-27, all I had done was my left sleeve, and some random one-offs. I think I'm glad I took it slow back then, because now that I have the time/money, I've been getting tattooed at LEAST once a month for 5+ hours each session. One week I got 5 new pieces. And it's good tattoos now, not the BS I was getting when I was younger. I still have my left leg, right arm (save for a small spot), full torso and back, feet, hands, and neck to get done. In all honesty I don't think there's enough time on this earth for me to get as many as I want.

Hunter Wilson got a reaction from tatB in Howdy guys.
Hey there, I'm Hunter. Live in Austin, TX. Full time artist trying to break into tattooing. I have about 30-40 hours in the chair under my belt, and currently in the process of completing my right leg with the wonderful Nathan Haynes here in town. Here is a shot of my leg so far to break the ice (sorry its an IG rip, it's all I got). I hope to contribute as much as I can, and thanks for having me.

Hunter Wilson reacted to David Flores in is there a code of ethics that i am missing when walking into a shop as a newbie?
When a shop is looking for a tattooer usually there is some fine print about no scratchers no wannabe apprentices , must have 5 years experience. So maybe that is why your story about tattooing a strippers rib with a kit you bought from the mall with no supervision as your first tattoo didn't win them over.
Reading your posts you come off like a guy who is really trying to be cool and justify the path as a kitchen magician that you have chosen and gain some sort of acceptance in the tattoo world. But the more you talk the less people think of you, my only advice would be to talk less, listen more.

Yeah, don't be a scratcher. Don't be everything that established tattooers who care about their industry hate and expect to be treated like a welcome guest. Our job is to do good work and protect our craft, not pass on bits of information and make you feel welcome or applaud you for having the courage to openly be a hack.
