I don't see anything

Since I started this thread I thought I should also share my imperfect "canvas". Obstacles include the surgical scar along my spine, some freckles/moles, acne scars, and stretch marks. Tattoo process is scheduled to begin in about 9 months. Fun to imagine a bad ass Japanese inspired back piece covering this.

I don't think it's dust, because he uses black fuzzballs to do things like shading and clouds on a lot of his tattoos. Well... fuzzballs probably isn't the right word, but I can't think a better one right now. It may be dust though. I saw the LST interview with him, and he said he used to do graffiti, so he's probably emulating the look of spray paint when he does this. To me it looks kind of like the void of outer space, or some sort of dark magic that sucks out the light.

Got my koi done today finally. We didn't go all the way around the back this time, the tattooist thought it would be better to wait until I extend it down to the forearm to do that. The colours don't look that great in the photo- irl they are far brighter. Need to take a daytime + healed photo at some point. 7.5 hours.

For me it's not all about what other people think. I wouldn't want something racist on my skin, even if nobody else ever sees it. I wouldn't get any kind of swastika, (even a non-Nazi one) on any part of the body, no matter how cool it looks. I just don't want it. I don't know how it's douchey to not want something. Although, I do also care what other people think. I'm not the world's biggest rebel and I'm not ok with strangers assuming I'm racist.

I didn't say tattoos in general are racist, it depends on the tattoo and how it's interpreted. To use my example there's a lot of swastikas out there and plenty of people would assume those are racist. They would probably be wrong, but that's what they would think. I know if I get any tattoo at all a lot of people will assume I'm an idiot, and I can live with that, but I'd like to avoid having anyone think I'm a Nazi.

i think the swastika is a very good example of cultural appropriation.
