  1. Started this little guy the other day! Popped into one of my favorite shops for their walk-in Saturdays and my artist Jordyn came up with this to match my left shin which is a fox sitting in a rose. Go back for color on June 15th! The angle is kinda wonky in the second picture, it's hard to get a straight on shot of your own shins when you don't have a mirror! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  3. I guess that I'm super lucky as aftercare, for me, isn't an issue (knock on wood). I'm fanatical about wound care, so it's just about managing the area for cleanliness and no rubbing. Maybe I haven't had the 'rough spots' tattooed like hands, feet or any ditches but to date I've never had any real issues with any part of my back, ribs, spine, butt or thighs. For me, it's all about the Tegaderm. :) Great tattoo and welcome!

  4. No way is aftercare worse! Nope nope nope. I can deal with itching. In some spots I've been tattooed, it was absolutely excruciating.

  5. I'm new to both the forum and tattoos and figured I'd say hi! Got my very first tattoo (see pictures) on the 11th of May, and I'm going back for colour on it and my second thigh piece on the 29th! I can already see how this is going to become a very addictive hobby, haha. First session was about 3h, and while I was absurdly nervous beforehand it was nowhere near as bad as I expected. In fact, I found the aftercare and pain afterwards significantly worse. Anyone else? Hope you're all well!

  6. Added some colour today the black isn't perfect in a couple of areas so might need a touch up. Also I've got to pick colours for the other koi and the peonies suggestions welcome. I'm thinking possibly yellow for the koi kind of like the old school colour schemes.

  7. I don't know if this is good or bad, but it's a new development anyway. Some of you may remember I left my nice cushy office job to work in a copy center. Well that didn't work out. I wasn't being scheduled for the amount of hours they had promised me and even though I filled in occasionally at the old job, I couldn't make ends meet. I did that for a few months, almost literally ran completely out of money (I haven't been this broke since high school), and came back to the old job full time once someone else quit. I guess sometimes you need to make yourself suffer to not take things for granted. Now that I worked through breaks trying to meet deadlines, been yelled at by customers, came home sore and sweaty, hardly ever sat down, and my bank account went down to three digits for the first time in like 10 years...I'm enjoying the pace of the old job, sitting at a computer, having insurance, and getting money. I'm planning some fun stuff once I get financially comfortable again.

    Hi got a question

right on,remember that this black mostly thin lined tattoo will heal relatively fast, tattoos take months to fully heal. so sit and relax, enjoy your new tattoo, and start planning the next one.

    Hi got a question

actually it looks normal, a little heavy on the lotion is what is causing that cracked look, try lighter coats of lotion. otherwise it looks good IMO.

    Hi got a question

it's not really that big of a deal, using fragrance free lotion is just one more small step to take in healing, the perfume in the lotion has a small amount of alcohol in it which dries out the skin and tattoo a tiny bit,I use Aveeno fragrance free all year long and post healing as well, again though ,it's not a huge deal.

  11. Another Commencement ceremony is in the books!! I absolutely love this day every year!!! Knowing that I'm going to retire in 3 years is bittersweet - only 3 more of these ceremonies left for me to enjoy. We had the rehearsal on Friday - and we all dress casually since were busy and walking around the college all day. It was hot so I opted to wear a sleeveless shirt under a short sleeve button down shirt. The gym was not yet cooled down so right before we started I pulled off my outer shirt. I heard the immediate conversations start from the students and then cheers and clapping - lots of the students had on clothing that showed their ink and I got lots of smiles and comments as they came up to practice receiving their diplomas.

  12. Had the latest additions to this last Saturday - (king magpye, atom, additional magpye (not shown) further up the arm and a little treble clef gap filler....)... Still healing right now - this will eventually be a sleeve.... eventually.... :-)

  13. So, I'm in Atlanta for a software conference and it let out earlier than I expected and I found myself with an afternoon with nothing to do. Browsed the interwebs for shops close by and didn't see anything promising. Just as I was about to give up and found one that looked good and ran over and got this done. It is a really bad pic but you get the idea. It wraps a bit so I doubt I will ever rally get a good shot. Tattoo by Stenvik Moström @stenviking_libertytat2

    Upcoming Tattoos

Go back to Black Heart in June to continue my Fudo/Dragon sleeve. The more I look at it the more I love it. I'm also gonna talk to Scott about landing an appointment with someone in October. I'd say but I don't want to jinx it. Lately I've been planning a whole lot of tattoos and trying to get a general time frame. I've gotten a lot of work done since last October and I figure I'm in a good position to pay for tattoos now so I might as well keep it rolling.

    Armpit Tattoos

Had my left armpit done in May or something like that. Mind you I was a bit under the weather, but it sucked getting tattooed. Great tattooer. Great tattoo. But no more tattoos while sick for me. It wasn't so much the pain of being tattooed. What got to me was the position we had to put my arm in to stretch the skin and make it easy for the tattooer to work. My arm was raised over my head and cranked towards myback. It's odd to describe but the lack of blood flow almost made it feel like severe ice burn flowing all along my arm, down to my hand and pinky and ring finger. I needed multiple breaks to get feeling back in my arm. Session lasted for 4 hours or so. I was a bit embarrassed about it as I've never had to ask for a break before because of pain. That said it healed awesomely and totally dig it. I have an appointment coming up next month for the other side. I'm hoping I do much better this time around though.
