  1. Thanks everyone. I apologize for the seeming laziness, I was pressed for time when I started this thread, but super excited about the idea, so I didn't wait to go back and search for myself later. Totally my party foul.

Scott Sylvia is on my BUCKET LIST, but for some reason it didn't click that the shop was in SF. I would love to literally make an appt, pick something off the wall, and let him rip. Once I have a firm date on when I'll be going, I'll call the shop. Hopefully he'd have time to do a small banger from wall flash when I'll be there. I won't speculate on how far ahead he's booked.

Scott was awesome and easy to book with in my experience. I emailed then called and boom was set up. His workman like approach and humbleness are worth the life reminders alone. Not to mention he does totally cool fast tattoos

  2. i am brainstorming my soon to be only big open spot on my torso. (center stomach) thought tiger head still thinking tiger head but gorilla, panther or ....(i have gorilla skull, snake and panther already and soon chest eagle) My adoring wife who has allowed me to spend so much time and energy getting tattooed doesnt want any more skulls. I have 3.

  3. I asked this recently in some thread and got a lot of these same replies. I used to try not to travel with too much on the busses and subways through New York. I would end up hitting ATMs once I got there, usually at the bodega right around the corner from Kings Avenue.

Just a note, if I were wanting to score some cash I would watch atms then pilfer. I would guess 99.99 % of the time no one would ever guess someone else had 1000 in their pocket and you would make safely to your appointment.

  4. I stumbled upon a shop called anvil tattoo and Brad tierney/ robert ulman out of altus oklahoma through instagram when I first got it(maybe a year ago) I immediatly thought they were doing a lot of cool stuff. I have waited a while to make sure I wasnt just wanting to like the stuff since they were close but man if anything Im liking it more. Check out brads work on instagram BRADANVIL

hundahl at oklahoma tattoo convention, drawn on, he did another tiger on a forearm before me on a cool guy that was killer and I thought about saying" man i will take a similar style and add a snake and be stoked" but just let him do his thing and I got a totally different look than what I pictured and couldnt be happier. He is a definitely someone to get a tattoo from and honestly I see him doing atleast one limb in the future if he is down. I originally thought my limbs would be one shots that i worry about tying together as I went but I am leaning towards asking him to do my whole left leg when time comes

  6. I'm home in Oklahoma for a few days and I got on the plane in Seattle with my tattoos showing, feeling like a badass...and the looks from everybody as I got on board...the looks in the airport...I mean...I covered up IMMEDIATELY. I am not ashamed of my tattoos - they are bad ass. I do NOT like being the center of attention and I do NOT want to feel random strangers disapproval and judgment...normally that kind of stuff would roll off my back...but there were so many and it was so thick that I swear I shrank a few inches just trying to compact myself into something unnoticeable.

So I feel kinda bummed out right now guys. But that will pass. But I forget what it's like to not be on a coast/in a coastal city. Different!

hahain oklahoma seems like about 30% of the 40 and under crowd have a tattoo. Its usually a small ankle tattoo or behind neck or upper arms on guys. I have noticed especially at the gym a person with one tattoo will not even get a second look, but guy with full sleeve or squidpants gets lots of glances and a girl with a big tattoo gets starred at.

  7. Pretty excited FOR you! How long was his waitlist? Eventually I'm going to plan a trip down south to austin whenever I'm visiting fam back in OK.

@beez I highly recommend it. Steve and Toney were both real cool. I will also speak with Thomas If he is not busy. I had a tentative appt with him in 2011 or 2012 In austin( before he joined ROA.) He did a huge mural on his visit instead of tattoos.
