forgive me if I've missed it somewhere, but I just did a couple of searches and (unbelievably) couldn't fine a thread like this, so here it is . . . .

this has to be one of the toughest tattoos out there. It looks even better since he's somehow had the restraint to keep the rest of the front of his torso clean...

If you want to go to one of these conventions...how far in advance do you need to buy tickets? I see that they are already on sale and they say "buy now while you still can". Like now now? Or will tickets still be available say in March/April. I've never been to a convention.

there's too many people that come and go for them to consider it 'sold out'. I think they end online ticket sales a few days-a week prior to the show...

I gotta call the S&S and try to get added on this list. All I want is a 1 point. Does he even do 1 points? Shit, I'll just call the shop.

He posts lots of one shot tattoos on instagram, I'm sure having a cool idea for one will get you in that much sooner ;)

What is the etiquette on a situation like this? Would it be creepy to approach someone and say "hey, I think I saw a picture of your piece on instagram/facebook/lst/etc, artist xyz did it right?"

not at all, I think we all share the tattoo geek gene ;)

Sorry for building up my appt with this maniac and not delivering a follow up. I agree with Grime in that it would suck big time to have someone bite the tattoo before he can complete it so for that reason I won't be posting any progress pictures. Sorry. If I see you in person, by all means, ask and ye shall receive! If you're in Socal and plan on going to Musink maybe you can see it there :D

I fucked up man, I should have gone. I didn't think I'd be up for it after going to SF for 4 days but Sunday the wife and I were contemplating it.

We decided not to but both highly regretted our decision by the time it was too late :(

Just got a call from Skull & Sword confirming this Wednesday and Thursday with GRIME! So Pumped!

What do you have planned for a cover up? Grime is doing it right? I hope he gives you the okay to post progress pictures of the tattoo.

Grime is doing the cover up, yes. I"ll definitely ask him if I can post a pic or 2 but I kinda doubt he'll be cool with it. We'll see :D

I would really like to get either a rib panel or the whole back of my thighs ass to back of knee done in Japanese style. I really don't have any japanese tattoos but clearly am a fan, but I am pretty particular about how I want it to look and don't know anyone here in Portland who does that kind of stuff in the style I want. I have seen enough of Gilsdorf to know he could do it, but hence my previous paragraph and if I go to SF there are other guys who do it, so either way it probably will mean trips to SF and a wait, so we will see how I feel next year.

No rush buddy, invest that time into finding a good artist that'll do a good job tattooing what you're looking for :D

At SFO, right? I got tattooed by Jondix on Sunday, I got tattooed by Jeff Gogue on Friday.

I'm getting a huge skull and snake with some other tricks involved. Hopefully he'll allow me to post pictures of the progress but I know he likes to keep most of his work on the down low.
