  1. Yeah, I gotta say, this isn't really all that uncommon. While I've been tattooed by some who are very prompt and professional, others have just kept it more "loose" I guess. If you aren't traveling for the tattoo or anything, I don't really think it's that big of a deal.

I mean, he offered you another time slot, and for all you know, those 3 days may have just filled up quickly, or like others have said, maybe he just wanted to take more time with the drawing. Not that it's any of my business, but why not get tattooed on a Sunday if you're available? Is it a religious thing? I thought that was only for working.

Obviously it's your choice to get tattooed by this person or not, but if you really like their work then I don't think the circumstances call for completely calling off the entire thing. Did you put down a deposit? If not, that means the guy will have probably spent hours working on a drawing for you and won't be compensated for that time at all.

  2. Mr Chad Koeplinger officially announced that he's moving to Austin and working at Rock of Ages full time. Can anyone say powerhouse?

ROA is already a powerhouse, if Chad finally settles down... damn. However, I'm skeptical about it, it seems like he has said similar things a few times in the past few years and it's never really happened.

  3. Believe it or not, yes. I have a separate bathroom that I use downstairs because I wake up early and don't want to disturb her. I wear a shirt to bed. We have our own routines, but we see plenty of each other throughout the day. My 2 year old digs my sweet and sour baby tattoos and I can't help but wonder if she's the one that's going to out me once she starts talking in complete sentences.

I'm not sure the underlined "all" necessarily had to do with showering or sleeping...

Okay, in case I'm not being clear, and because I think we are all wondering... do you have sex while wearing a shirt? If not, how does she not notice them? This is just so bizarre to me.

  4. my family doesn't know about my sleeve tattoo and I will probably see them in may as I am going to Boston to visit a friend and they wanna get together :P I was thinking of buying one of those shirts that go to your elbows to hide it LOL I don't know, they really were against and hated the first one I showed em. I guess though, they never really knew the time frame of the tattoos so as far as they know, I could have gotten them all last month

... like a long sleeve shirt? Wait. You don't own a long sleeve shirt?

  5. I've actually put some thought into this. I'm 36 so it's really no one's business. But sometimes I like kind of shocking people. I plan on getting three tattoos before I reveal any of them. So the smallest will be on my shoulder and can be revealed by pulling my sleeve up. The other two will be across my back and rather large.

So I'm going to wait until the family gets together for a holiday and is sitting down for dinner. My brothers, wives, kids, my mom, all that. I'll announce that I got a tattoo and ask if anyone would like to see it. So I'll kind of pull my sleeve up to reveal just a little of the small one and then kind of act like it's easier if I just take my shirt off at which point I'll turn around with no shirt revealing the glory and wonder. It should elicit some choice reactions.

Dude, you've thought about this way too much. Just go get some cool tattoos.

  6. @heathenist I just did this. 5 hours on Friday and 4 hours on Saturday. It really wasn't that bad at all. It's not the first time I've done two days, but it is the first time I've had color put into a day old outline. Not bad at all. I was super afraid of it, but in reality it was easy peasy.

Nowhere on the knee is fun though, whether it's day one or two :p

Thanks, that's good to hear. Unfortunately I'm looking to get my chest done, so it's probably going to suck either way.

  7. Not judging at all, but it kinda blows my mind how sensitive people are to stuff like this. I never once considered not telling my parents, even though I was pretty sure at least my dad wouldn't approve. My mom digs all of them, but my dad doesn't care for them. The thing is, I could give two fucks if either one of them approve or not. Maybe I'm spoiled, but are there really parents out there who would stop talking to their own kids because they got tattooed? My dad might be an asshole about it every once and a while, but he can also be an asshole about religion and politics and we still get along just fine. Your parents probably aren't going to agree or love every decision you make in life, I don't think they are really supposed to, but when it comes to things like religion, politics, tattoos, etc. those are things that should be pretty easy for them to get over.

Also @Jnvlv you should check out Immaculate Tattoo in Mesa. I just got tattooed by the owner Aaron Coleman, and he is a great artist and a super nice dude. That entire shop is just amazing. Immaculate Tattoo - Home

  8. It was pretty awful. Granted, I've only gotten tattooed on my arms and legs. But I still think the elbow is the worst of all time. The knee cap and the side of the knee are pretty terrible though.

Def not looking forward to the chest or stomach...

Same here, I've only been tattooed on arms and legs (and feet if those count as being different from legs), but the elbow was fucking rough. When he was packing in the color right on top of the elbow was the only time I've ever thought "holy shit, I don't think I'm going to be able to finish this tattoo," but right as I was thinking that he finished up with that part and moved on to an easier spot further down my arm.
