@YOMONEY The before / after on my leg was about 9 after. I do find that my tattoos get darker the first 2 weeks then fade, which makes sense with how the whole procedure happens. We tell (as do most people) that you need to wait 4-6 weeks between treatments, this is to facilitate the skin tissue to heal properly - the reality is you can see fading, granted it will be very slight and gradual, for up to 6 months between treatments if you stretched them out that long. Most people don't want to do 2 treatments a year though and wait 5-7 years for a removal.
Today is two weeks past my 2nd treatment, and 1st on two other tattoos and I'll update my thread before the next treatments.

If anyone is curious what a Devita stencil tattooed by Scott Harrison looks like this is the one I got from him last week. It is two Devita stencils laid over one another then made into flash by Scott. I know that it is not everyone's cup of tea, but I love it. Bad photos and sideways, but it was the best I could put together right now. Sorry.

I was quite disappointed, I thought the live portion would have been a trash talking free for all. Especially when they had that crazy "canvas" bitching at what's his face for that horrible sacred heart but alas, Navarro needed his tv time and cut it short.
Favourite part by far was when buddy with no tattoos said Oliver could tattoo him in a place he couldn't hide it if he could shave his hair and moustache. Oliver responded with "I don't think you deserve to be tattood."

Having been hanging out, working in (as a counter person) and been involved with the tattoo and piercing industry for the last 17 years, and having too many friends than I care to admit who own shops, tattoo, build machines and pierce, I know why gloves are so important. Furthermore, cross contamination, when you understand it, will make you skeeve out next time you visit the dentist or go to the hospital. A box of gloves is $4, some common sense knowledge is priceless, add them together and you and I stay healthy and clean.
Regarding the ice, same thing applies, make sure they bag the ice pack and dispose of it properly. For icing it, we've also found the gate theory to be very effective. Essentially, put ice next to the area getting treated and the cooling sensation will help what's being treated. Same concept as, having a cast on your ankle and scratching your knee to relieve an itch on your ankle. It works way better than you'd think. My experience over my last treatment session, where I was on the receiving end, was 3 tattoos at once. After the initial 2 minutes my body, while increasing in temperature got used to it, albeit via some shortened breathing too - which any technician should be watching for and taking a break as you need them. I've found, like getting tattooed, that after a few minutes your body just accepts the pain and deals with it and it's not nearly as bad as the first few pulses.
Once a tattoo has fully healed, usually 8-12 weeks, we can start treatment. Age does factor in, but no more so than skin type, immune system, quality of tattoo, pigment used and age of person who has the tattoo. They are all variables, everyone is different, but the laser only targets pigments within the skin.

@YOMONEY What you're asking isn't as uncommon as you'd expect. That is if you want a black arm and a Japanese arm.
It's a common misconception that heavy black is the solution for covering unwanted tattoos. I'm ny opinion, Japanese style tattoos can be way more effective in covering-up tattoos.
If the tattoos you have a raised, or scarred, even slightly, that will certainly show through the black. Also in my experience, if the unwanted tattoos have colours that were mixed with white pigment (bright green, some yellows, light blue, some oranges etc) then that white-based pigment can be very difficult to cover with solid black. Colour Japanese will cover it much better if you go to the right tattooer.
While I'm spouting my opinions, here's another: It's easier to find a decent japanese style tattooer than one who can fill solid fields of smooth black these days.
Regarding the awesome black/japanese combo by Ian Flower, above: Nobody said it was japanese before it was covered. It's testament to Ian's design and tattoo skill that it looks that way. The peony on the guy's chest was also tattooed by Ian.
Laser is not a magic wand for removing tattoos.
But the line we always use at Frith Street regarding black for coverups: "Once you go black, you don't go back"
There are also other ways to use heavy black in cover up tattoos but there's a difference between being helpful and giving away all my secrets.
@YOMONEY there's a thread somewhere here about coverup tattoos.

I'd say it's a great idea, but I love huge blackwork pieces and japanese. I personally don't have any blackwork, but I really appreciate it when it's well done!
I don't know your current tattoo collection on your arm, but even doing blackwork with some negative space patterns in it would be awesome too. Marc at Little Swastika does that kind of thing really well

Yea like someone stated earlier blacked out limbs look like either first a cover-up, or second some I know have done it as a straight out tattoo. While I definitely like some super-heavy blackwork stuff, straight out entire limb blackout it s a bit intense. Coming from someone who is freaking out on trying to jam a ton of awesome artists onto my very bare skin right now, I could never think about a big black arm/leg/etc. Bare skin is too precious to myself. That being said you might like it. Other than the sake of this thread, I might spin up a designs thread on heavy blackwork (not really blacked out limbs) and see what turns up, as I've seen some interesting stuff. Judging by the types of tattoos on LST, I dont think there will be much chatter related to it.
Here are some examples of close-to-blackout and complete blackout work to show you what you'd be looking at.

all in all I stand by my opinion that if this is for a coverup, you might be better off just waiting to laser and just work on other tattoos.

I don't have any cover-ups on my body but I tattoo a hell of a lot of them.
Most of the larger work that I do (bigger than 1/2 sleeve) usually incorporates some kind of cover-up.
I started to make a point of NOT taking a 'before' picture. Sometimes I do, but I found that the cover-up requests got bigger and bigger the more cover-ups I showed. Covering a half sleeve sized tattoo with a full sleeve compromises the end product but I sometimes enjoy the challenge and the problem-solving aspect of it.
This is one of the more tricky ones from last year or so, when I used to take 'before' photos:

I got an email today asking if I could cover a full sleeve - with a sleeve.

@mikePanic Thanks, helpful info regarding removal sessions. It did start as a few simple tattoos that I tought I’d tie together. Originally, I planned to have blue shading done in between the spaces and around everything, similar to what’s up on the top of my arm. Kinda of a space theme. I just think my arms is too hot (colorful) and I'm not the person I was when I got the spirals done.
I’m on good terms with the artist, I’m just not really thinking I want to finish it the way I planned. I’ve been thinking of changing it to this. Keeping the space theme but going more realistic. Down my arm would go another cat and some abstract space. I think I'd only need to do a few laser sessions to remove some colors and a cleaner working area.
@jayessebee it's funny you mention a panther because I would like to add some big cats onto the arm.
