  1. I fucking love Grant's work. Have you seen the burning stuff he's been putting on instagram lately? It's mindblowing.

Yeah, his stuff is very pleasing to the eye, looking forward to the appointment today. Been wanting to get something from him for a bit. I was in the shop on Saturday and I felt like I was thrown into the past. Not sure which guy it was, but he was plugging away on an eagle on this guy's thigh. He said it was time for a smoke. Which I thought meant he was taking a break and going outside. What is meant was he was announcing that he would be smoking right there. He was doing the outline as he puffed away! Haven't seen that in a long time!

  2. *shutters*

TEC/SPK is the only way to order! Mustard goes on everything else. (I put mustard on fries like a boss!) Also own about 5 types of mustard, but for seriously Taylor ham, egg, cheese, salt, pepper, ketchup!

    Thread derail?

yes, we have gone of course!!!!

  3. Long before I got my 1st tattoo at the ripe young age of 50, I always admired them. I didn't necessarily look at tattoos longingly, but I admired them as art. Maybe that's because I played piano since I was 5 years old and was already into the arts.

Now here I am two years later with two upper arm tattoos. And in my small "circle" of peopple I know in this vast world, I've already tasted the tattoo stigma. I have no qualms about telling anyone that I have tattoos. So since I do, I get to see lots of reactions. When I tell people, some of them have tattoos of their own and we share, some of them don't have tattoos but like them, and some just haven't put it on their priority list (haven't given the subject much thought).

But then there are "Those" people. It's the people who cringe at you or can't even look at the tattoo for reasons such as "why would you inflict a wound on yourself?", and then there are those people who frown at you and feel uncomfortable because all of the sudden "you aren't the person I thought you were?". Why can't people just simply look at a tattoo from an artistic/quality viewpoint? Regardless if they like the style or not, at least give me your artistic impression. I realize there are people who don't like art, so if those people just said they are not interested in tattoos, that would be fine. But to berate me, or make me try to feel uncomfortable because I have a tattoo - why bother? (I know, it's because in general people suck). Why put a stigma on something as personal as a tattoo? Hey, if it sucks then tell me, but why stigmatize it?

Damn, this tattoo culture sometimes feels like a cult. Geesh. (But my 80+ year old parents really like both of my tattoos :-) )

There are "those people" that refuse to understand so they judge as a defense mechanism. To bad for them for being closed minded. I don't think any of us wanted tattoos so that we fit in with the status quo. With that we accept whatever comes our way regarding criticism. I have friends that are shocked to see the work I have done. Most say that it looks cool, but they admit they don't understand why. Haven't received any feedback questioning the person I am.

  4. People who run into me at the beach treat me differently at work... they can't believe what a difference between me at work and out of work. One guy flat out told me years ago he was pissed that he knew me for years and had no idea.

    Rob

What was he pissed about? It's not like we are obligated to disclose all things to our co-workers.

  5. Hopefully we get enough done to see the direction of the project. We have 12 hours of tattoo time scheduled at the end of the month. I would post the study for my back on here, but I need to ask Kore if he is ok with that first.

I think this should be for finished work, not ongoing. I plan on posting the final shot of my back-piece for judgement when it's 100% complete. Don't think it's a tattoo contest if we have unfinished tattoos. No disrespect to you @Brock Varty . Aren't you looking to show off and be judged on the finished project? Show the beauty that the artist created, and commitment to the tattoo! The appointments, expense and of course handling the pain. The journey is shared on "Latest Tattoo Lowdown". That's where we all compliment and look forward to the finished project!!!!

  6. Hi. I came across this site while doing a bit of research into my next tattoo. It will be a trad eagle done by Ross Nagle in Limerick Ireland. Some of you may have come across some of his stuff before, its only my second tattoo and hopefully it will turn into (at least) a half sleeve over the next few months. Anyway just a quick hello to introduce myself, keep doing what your doing, the site is fantastic! :D

Wouldn't mind getting something from Mr. Nagle. He was supposed to be coming my way last October but canceled his trip. Look forward to seeing the end product. Cheers!!

  7. hey guys,

Super noob here. Found this forum cuzz I seem to be having a crazy reaction to my new tattoo and was hoping to seek the opinion of some pros on here (would call the shop I got it done at but they're closed right now). And, I'm freaking out lol. So if anyone would like to help me out, it'd be greatly appreciated.

    Post a pic of it....
