scottyg reacted to Dan in Hello. Is this healing badly?
looks like a normal healing for what it is to me,that's what happens to tattoos, they NEVER again look like they did the day they were applied.
and also this new "water color" style does not hold up as well as bold saturated colors with outlines.

scottyg reacted to Hogrider in Hand Tattoos
There may come a day when hand tattoos won't limit career choices, but we're not there yet. I have pretty heavy coverage; two sleeves, full back and one leg, but I can cover everything up with pants and a long sleeve shirt. My only comment for people that want to get hand tattoos is to go into it with your eyes wide open. In today's economy, there is no more job security. You may need to switch companies or occupations. Think long and hard. If you decide to do it anyway, go big or go home!

scottyg reacted to gtrjunior in Initiation - myself and my awful tattoo
^^^ yeah, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with that tattoo. I don't know what you're seeing in it that you would want hide it. It looks fine. As oboogie said....tattoos are imperfect by nature, made by imperfect humans.
Whatever you're seeing in that tattoo is all in you're own mind.

Never, ever get another tattoo. They are made by humans, and they are imperfect. There is nothing wrong with your tattoo, but you have convinced yourself there is.
I don't know what to tell you other than do NOT get another tattoo. For your own sanity.

From my perspective, I think it looks fine. Any tattoo will lose definition the farther you are away from it. Scale is important - which is why you'll many times hear the recommendation Go Large or Go Home. I would not try to "fix" again when you've already twice gotten what you'd asked for.
Move on. Decide what you want to do next and find an artist who will talk you through placement and scale - not just do what you ask him/her to do. A solid artist will understand how size and placement fit into your body type and will make recommendations accordingly.

scottyg reacted to Hogrider in Got my first tattoo but I'm a bit concerned about the design...
Quit overthinking it. It's a nice piece. Don't ruin it for yourself.
My artist told me very early on that if you look at any tattoo long enough you'll find something wrong with it. Enjoy your tattoo, it's a nice tribute to your grandfather.

scottyg reacted to sphinxbit in Day 5- is my tattoo healing properly?
I have very sensitive skin and the DR said the ointment may also be a bad batch. But now everything is normal after switching products.
There have been other cases in the past few months with the same issue with the Aquaphor.
My healing process is normal and the scanning from the yellow ink is also normal it's just my skin sensitivity.
Thank you you all for the help

scottyg reacted to Synesthesia in Day 5- is my tattoo healing properly?
At this point, it shouldn't really be noticeably warm or stinging, and tattoos should NEVER have a smell besides soap or a faint lotion scent. Some of that scabbing looks a little questionable to me too. I think you need to see a doctor instead of waiting to hear back from an artist. It can't hurt anyway.

scottyg reacted to Laura23tattoo in cellulitis
Thank you, that's exactly what I think. I am more bothered about fixing the pain rather than fixing the way it looks
-
scottyg reacted to Dan in Hi got a question
actually it looks normal,
a little heavy on the lotion is what is causing that cracked look,
try lighter coats of lotion.
otherwise it looks good IMO.

scottyg got a reaction from Devious6 in cellulitis
jesus christ, my only advice is do whatever your doctor tells you! after all, physical safety should trump aesthetics here!

scottyg reacted to thyes in What are tattoo appointment essentials?

scottyg reacted to gtrjunior in Uneven Tattoo. Please Help
I think that some color would make those imperfections a non-issue. You're seeing them because there isn't anything else to catch you're eye....
My first tattoo was very much like that. I went to have it fixed years later by another artist and he redid the lines and once he added color you really don't dwell on those little things.
