Hand Tattoos

Recommended Posts

I love a good back piece or a solid sleeve, but my obsession is hand tattoos. Here are a few of my favorites from the collection I have saved on my computer.

I'd love to see some other favorites, or hand tattoos that LST members have!

Nice pics. I really like flowers tattooed on the hands, I'm not currently at a stage in my life where I can tattoo my hands, but maybe one day. Also interested to members hand tattoos and how it affected other aspects of their lives, if at all.

I say this all the time. I can get away with a lot of coverage because I wear a shirt and tie every day, but I would love to get my hands done someday. I always tell my wife that the day that I retire I'll be going to get my hands done. If PA teacher pension/retirement holds out for me, it should be in about 27 years. But who's counting?

Since eventually I'll be on disability, which is a huge bummer, I'm planning on "celebrating" the fact with hand tattoos.

Right now I'm thinking Steve Byrne for that, but I'm hoping to work for about 10 more years, so there's no telling who I'll be wanting my hands done by when it happens.

It'll be my gift to myself.

How does one "like" and "not-like" a post at the same time?

I thought the same thing. Its a big life-changing event when you can't work any longer. I was close with my back injury for a while.

I will be celebrating my retirement with a hand tattoo for sure.

All-time favorite is on a friend of mine, mostly because of how silly it is. What do gorillas think about? Bananas, duh. By Drew Rash.

Additionally, here are three I've seen on Instagram recently that I've loved.

Another Tim Hendricks. Squeezing a readable ROA on there blows my mind.

Grez. Does it get better than classic roses on a hand?

Grime. And to totally tweak out the classic rose, a rose skull morph.

wow great pics everyone. @Graeme "squidmitts"! Hah!

I don't generally seek out dotwork so those Jondix, Weisbeck, and Hooper hands are completely blowing my mind right now. Amazing!

Unfortunately if I am ever able to get my hands done, it won't be for several decades. But in the meantime, here's a couple more on other people.

    • Welcome!  In these times (and I don't mean Covid related times) it's pretty common to have to wait and patiently pursue the artist of your dreams - assuming you're stuck on just one artist. I actually waited almost 2 years to get to sit down in front of a particularly busy guy. Throwing down extra cash might work with some and piss off others. Working with personalities is always a gamble . . .  What style of tattoo are you desiring? $1000 will buy you traveling options . . .
    • I am ready!  Really just focused on design and finding the right artist... seems like the best ones that focus on the style I like all have their books closed.  I would happily pay a premium fee to use one of these artists... considering the fact that this thing will be on my body for rest of my life, something like a $1k "bonus" to the artist seems like a no brainer to find the most talented.  Any ideas how to broach that subject?
    • Hey guys. In like 2016 a film student made a video of an old session of mine getting waves and leaves added to my turtle by Takashi Matsuba in his old studio. Thought I'd post some stills from the video here. The video's locked, but it's cool.
