If anyone is curious what a Devita stencil tattooed by Scott Harrison looks like this is the one I got from him last week. It is two Devita stencils laid over one another then made into flash by Scott. I know that it is not everyone's cup of tea, but I love it. Bad photos and sideways, but it was the best I could put together right now. Sorry.

Thom is going to have an Art Show/Sale at Mike Rubendall's King's Ave Tattoo in Manhattan from January 11th-13th. At the show, you will be able to buy signed books, creative rubbings from Tattoo Stencils, and his art boxes. Besides Thom being there in person to talk about his art, Scott Harrison will be tattooing Saturday and Sunday. Thom has agreed to bring some of his stencils from back in the day, so if you want a deVita style tattoo, maybe you can get in with Scott, as this will be the closest you can get to the real thing. This will be a real special weekend, and a good way to see Thom's art up close. Please DM me for any other information, and I will get back to you as soon as I can. I hope everyone enjoyed Thom's Tattoo Age series.

I just flew from Tokyo to LA and spent four consecutive days getting a Rock of Ages on my back from Eddy Deutsche.
Although I got my first tattoo over 15 years ago, I only became obsessed with tattooing in the last few years.
This forum has been very informative so I thought I'd share my experience.The pics are all taken from Eddy's instagram account.
I decided I wanted a ROA back piece from Eddy; repeatedly pouring over copies of Tattoo Time was a big part of this decision.
I e-mailed him three months ago telling him that I wanted a ROA, but not a trad one.
He asked if I was open to Sci-Fi elements, I said yes please, and here's what I got ;)
We had planned to do four days of four hours. I was terrified from having read the longest sessions thread, but Eddy assured me that "the stoke" would pull me through and it did. I did the entire thing straight. We didn't, however, do 16hrs; we ended up doing something like 3, 4, 2, and 2. The second day was the roughest and basically doing my whole right side rib area on the third was also painful. The comment I got from Freddy Corbin on the third day (shown in the last pic) made my day.
It's not done, but we came very close.
Eddy was awesome, entertaining, and supportive, and despite the pain, the whole thing couldn't have been a more pleasurable experience.
I look forward to going back for more.

I've told a few people face-to-face about this project but I want people online to find this on their own, for now. If I shout about it and create hype, everyone will be bored of waiting by the time it's finally finished. I expect a long gap (at least 6 months) between the last shot and the finished edit. At the moment I'm doing this 100% on my own - Camera, lights, sound, music, graphics, editing, planning, photography, layout, writing, interviewing, transcribing, promotion, etc etc. I'm glad you like what I've done so far. As well as the guys at the shop I have some great people lined up to get interviewed too. Some of them you know, some you don't know.
Actually, on the subject of transcribing... I do need help. Lately I've been thinking about asking for help but I wasn't sure to do it here, twitter or wherever.
Without turning this into a sob story, I can't transcribe every interview myself. I've done a few but my wrists can't take the strain of tattooing 5 days a week and typing for 2. Having hard-copy interview transcripts is essential to the editing process. So I guess this is an open offer for someone to have some low paid, occasional, boring work but to help out on a project that I think might be interesting.
I don't have the budget for professional transcription services (actually, I have zero budget, everything is paid for out of my own pocket) but I can pay a percentage of the standard professional rate.

HOOPER versus PECKer:
The footage of Oliver getting tattooed was almost an hour long. It was tough to cut some of the hilarious one-liners but the best ones are in there.
@Scott R I'm the guy holding the camera. We did meet at the SFO convention.
There ware lots of people watching Oliver get tattooed from outside the room, but the guys you can see while Thomas gets tattooed are Chad Koepliner, Stefano C, Shane Wilcox, Me and Thomas' friend James.

FST: On the Shoulders of Giants is a documentary film, currently in production by Stewart Robson, a tattooer at Frith Street Tattoo (FST) in London.
This project is expected to be completed in late 2013.
Shooting started in August 2012.
Stewart has interviewed his friends and colleagues, some of them world-renown in tattoo circles but all of them have worked in the cramped infamous basement shop in the heart of London’s seedy soho district, to share this portrait of one of the most interesting, vibrant and influential modern tattoo shops.

Note to the moderators, this is my leg, tattoo removal being done on me, not a client / stranger / randoms.
Back in 1997 I started what I hoped would be an epic leg sleeve - and ended up falling out of love with it about a year or two later. I also added to the back, by a different artist, a totally random piece to what you see here and what's on the side. By 1999 I had zero intention of actually finishing it and started focusing more on work, a career and things like that. Since then I've had several other tattoos that I actually like, but have always dealt with what's that? whenever I wear shorts. Thus, I started having them removed a while ago. Since this piece was mostly grey wash, and put in rather lightly, I've had some really great results after a single treatment. Thursday night I sat through a 2nd treatment on this piece and had 1st treatments on the right side of my leg and a piece on the back.

Healing is going well already and hopefully by the second week of January I can get another treatment.

you can always ferry from the city to larkspur then cab or bus up two exits. the ferry ride is amazing!!
