Thought it would be interesting to see and hear about "homemade", you know, the needle-wrapped-in-thread and ink variety tattoos, and about "jailhouse" work, be it single needle dipped in ink, guitar-string in a BIC pen barrel with a tape-player motor, or any other variant.
I still have a few that haven't been covered, and I've seen many, many really nice pieces come out of various joints. I will post some pics as soon as I can scrounge a better camera, and get permission form some of my Brothers to post pix of their work.
Anyone else have an interest in this? If not, Admins, please feel free to delete this!

I had this namakubi done by Danny Rossiter from Rain City in Manchester, UK. He's from New Zealand but has been tattooing here for years now, very talented and very underrated!

I wouldn't call them the blues, but when I first got my sleeve outlined to the wrist I had a "holy shit" moment. I had my back piece outlined yesterday and when I got home I had another "holy shit" moment. Not buyers remorse, just a "I can't believe I did this" moment. That's turned into a "fucking A!!!" feeling this morning. :-)
Now if I could only stop looking at them every time I pass a mirror ...

I'm always paranoid that if I mention an upcoming tattoo, someone out there will call that shop and cancel my appointment. Weird, yes I know.

a few shops in my area are having a charity flash walk-in day on Monday and I'm thinking of participating to show support for my city.

welp.. flight & hotel is all booked.. flying from pennsylvania to san francisco september 19th, getting tattooed by stuart cripwell in san rafael and then hanging out in SF for a few days. i've never been to the west coast/on a plane so it will be quite the adventure, to say the least.

If your artist is unsure about what's causing it, then go to a doctor. If I were you, I wouldn't put anything on it until you know what the issue is.

Going to a doc is a good idea!

I just want to point out it's only 3 days into this thing. It will take a lot to win this thing with what has been posted. We have to take some pride as a community in the level of tattoos our members end up with.

This question is best answered by your tattoo artist. If you've found one that you trust, trust him or her to tell you what will work and look best.
