I can understand it not being exactly what you wanted/expected, but it's not bad at all.  Well done and fits with the other work on your arm.  I'd mark it up to life, enjoy it as is and if you still want one like your reference, find a different artist and have it put someplace else.  Nothing wrong with double dragons.

I dig it. As mentioned above, I think that once get more work around the area, you will feel more balanced!

I personally love the little peek you get at the collar of your shirt; it would prompt me to ask more about what’s on the rest of your chest.
 
I would hold off on a couple of months, maybe even a year, before settling into a decision about what you want to do. I know I personally had a small adjustment period when I went from not see my tattoos to having one that peeks out of my collar and one smack dab in the middle of my forearm. 
 
Also, it sounds like you may feel more “complete” and settled into the tattoo once you have the surrounding pieces you mentioned.

I think you are as likely to make it worse than better. That's a nice tattoo. As @Synesthesia pointed out, that's in a tough spot, really delicate skin. NO tattoo is perfect, if you look hard enough and long enough, you'll always find something wrong.

I honestly think it looks fine. It's a bold tattoo in a highly visible place, maybe that's where some of your doubt is coming from. I see extremely minor blowouts I probably wouldn't have noticed if you wouldn't have said anything, but really all tattoos have flaws and the neck is a tough spot to tattoo as it is. If you really think having a solid line at the top would make you feel better about it, go for it...but I like it how it is, man, and I think the surrounding tattoos you're talking about adding will only improve it more. 

I think I go through a stage like this with all my tattoos. It's something new that you're going to see forever and that takes some adjusting.

I think you could definitely add some more flowers in the empty spaces and/or have them re-colored. I think I saw you mention somewhere else you weren't sure about the pink and purple flowers? Maybe try making those darker? Just sit on it for a while and see if it grows on you though, all of mine eventually did.

My ribs fucking killed and so far they're only lined, I had my chest done all in one 4 hour shot by Bailey Robinson, I was actually weeping by the end.

New to the site. Here is my latest. It took 6 hours and 45 minutes but got it all done in one. I think the artist did a great job and initially I was very positive about the piece. I really like some of the shaded area in the middle but am trying to warm up to the wings as they contrast a lot with my arm tattoos. I may even go back eventually to have less blank space between the feathers on the wings.
