you are in Norway so you are 100% obligated to get tattooed by Marius Meyer
Couldn't agree more.
And on that subject, less than 2 weeks til i'm back in Oslo for back piece session number 3 and a little one shot from Morten at Blue arms. Can't wait!

Was wandering around Bath today and got a walk in with Jimmie Tatts, filled in an awkward gap on the inside of my elbow.
The shop is a 20 minute drive from my house but i've never been there before today. Makes a change from all the travelling i've been doing for tattoos!

Yeah that is seriously badass. I feel the tattoo jealousy rising within me once more!
Edit: Oh god dammit i shouldn't have clicked on the previous page. You people are killing me here!

Booked up for back piece session number 3 with Marius Meyer on the 19th of May, also managed to snag an appointment with Morten Transeth the day before. Gonna be a good trip!

Thanks! Bottom mask is Jeff Gogue. I got my first session from Shige at Diamond Club and second session at the SF convention.
Damn, you don't fuck around! Awesome work, but that goes without saying when you've got that kind of lineup working on you.

For sure, I had better times in my life:) but for what it's worth, it was bearable and I managed to go through it. I may won't say the same the next session though...time will tell:)
You must be made of tough stuff. Chad did an all seeing eye on my outer forearm, below the elbow and i spent the whole time wanting to punch him!
Thing is, pain or no pain the results speak for themselves and you're well on your way to having an incredible backpiece.

To follow on from my last post, i got the book delivered yesterday and it's really fantastic. I'd advise any of you to pick it up if you can

Her book opens up 3rd March at 12, I work in West London and am already planning ways to get the morning off!
congrats @Manu Manu, looks so good and fits your knee so well.
That's my birthday! Shame i'll be sat at work 140 miles away :/

8 days post backpiece and no itching as yet. All healing nicely save for a few really dark black spots that are dry as a nun's chuff, but that's nothing i didn't expect. Feel like i've really lucked out on the healing for both sessions so far, which tells me i'm due an absolute bitch!

itchy all over my back.... :(
Still tender on a small area where they did the most color saturation... But healing well for the most part.
I'm not itching just yet, still in the uncomfortable phase where any kind of stretching, bending or movement in general feels like having bad sunburn slapped with a cricket bat. Yesterday was not an enjoyable day!

I think if my first session was just lines it wouldn't have been so bad but because I got hit a bunch with the shader filling in the tiger stripes it was especially uncomfortable because unlike subsequent shading sessions that have focused on one area of my back, I had dried out and itchy patches of skin from my upper back down to my ass. That was the session that I stopped dry healing my tattoos.
Glad you mentioned this. After my first session i used cream for maybe 2 days but i hated the feeling so stopped using it. So far i've not used any cream and i'm doing ok (relatively), but i think i'll probably have the same experience as you now that i've got big chunks of shading to heal.

Cross posting from the back piece thread, this is after session 2 with Marius Meyer yesterday.
Yesterdays session was all the scales, all the shading in the skull and all the yellow. Looking to get the next session booked in for around the beginning of April, hopefully.
-
Session 2 done yesterday, plenty left to do but its crazy how different it looks from the end of the 1st session.
Borrowed this pic from Marius' instagram page. Started with the fine line scales on the snake, then the black in the skull and finally some colour on the snake. All told it was probably 5 - 5.5 hours this time around.

That being said, if you look like teen wolf, do your tattooer a courtesy and buzz down your fur with clippers so buddy doesn't need to go through a box of disposables.
Yeah, this is me although only from the waist down. I have legs like a gorilla and the chest of a 12 year old boy, so any below the belt tattoos i always clipper down the hair so it's not so much work for the artist. I never completely shave it, though.

Sitting or standing room only?
Haha, standing only but it's at the Bristol academy so it's fairly easy to avoid the pit. There's a balcony above and a raised area set back from the floor, where the bar is (my spiritual home), so i'll just have to take a bit of a back seat.
I say this now, but there's a good chance i'll get a few pints in me and just go to the front.
