The elbow area of my right arm by Chris O'Donnell, the skull and peony were done a few months ago and the leaves and background were added about 2 weeks ago:

If you're crazy, I am too. A few times I've sketched tattoo ideas on myself with eyeliner pencils and eye shadow. Before I booked my half sleeve I sketched one on myself when I was drunk and bored, made me decide to do it cause I liked how it looked. I'm not a tattoo artist so what I sketch will be different from the final result but it's a fun way to "test drive" the idea and channel my excitement.

I'll go ahead and get this month started - edit: almost!. All months should really have a panther tattoo, shouldn't they?
I'd love to see Aaron Coleman three-peat.

I'm waiting until I can get a better pic of the wolf I got from Ron Wells this afternoon before I post. I'm way thrilled with it though, and he couldn't have been nicer. All in all a great experience.

I have not gotten anything from those shops (yet), but several of my friends have tattoos from the artists at Ace Custom Tattoos and they do solid work. Best shop in Charlotte IMO.
I really like Chris Stuart's tattoos, he does really nice traditional stuff.

Here's the fox I got yesterday from Ron Wells, tough to get a good photo. Was supposed to fly in, get the tattoo, and fly back out last night but due to the snow storm I'm now stuck in NYC until tomorrow. So getting this little guy has turned into an unexpected vacation / adventure / chance to hang out with old friends.

Haha yeah, the sex scenes in the Witcher 2 are so stiff and awkward.
Just found out they ported Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic to iPad/iPhone. Did anyone else play that game back when it came out? Don't really play games on the iPad but got it for the nostalgia. Turns out wreaking havoc with the powers of the dark side is just as fun now as it was 10 years ago.

Makes me happy to see this thread bumped since I've got an appointment with him tomorrow! Too excited to get any work done so I'm just browsing LST all day haha.

Here's my opinion:
1) It's been stated pretty explicitly that cost is not something to be discussed publicly here. If you're unsure, check out some other shops in your area and get a feel for what the hourly rates are.
2) Take the quote out: it's on the middle of your back (if I'm interpreting your sketch correctly) which you WILL regret later if you get into the whole tattoo-thing long term. That is prime real-estate. Also, the images you've chosen probably represent what you are trying to say anyway and the words will ultimately fall-flat in time (my opinion).
For what it's worth, I agree with the author of this article regarding text on the body (you might not!):

2) I think both of the images could be stronger if placed elsewhere. I would put one on each upper arm. I think the kite-girl could be really cool in the right artist's hands, but I don't think the image is big enough to be a side-piece. Again, that's prime real-estate if you decide to get something larger in the long term.
3) Instead of feathers, why not something like a phoenix or bird-of-paradise or peacock? I think those animals tend to make for a stronger image.

After 1st session with Horitomo. Back was much easier than I thought/ heard, of course we haven't hit the problem areas yet...

Final session on my back with Rubendall today. It's bittersweet. So happy to have this portion of my back finished but will miss the fun times with Rubendall. Great gentleman, incredible artist and shrewd businessman. The complete ball of wax and then some. I still have some appointments booked and I'm thinking about starting something new with him. Henning will top things off end of this year when he'll be visiting and doing his usual guest spot at Kings Ave! Enjoy the pics!

I've got thursday next week booked to start on my backpiece, to get rid of that white 'spot' between my two sleeves ;-)
But.... I'm having a hard time deciding on what (kuniyoshi) warrior design to go with, I know you can't really go wrong with a Kuniyoshi design, but thats what making it hard to decide, they are all sooo good ;-)

I'm kinda leaning towards one of the top pictures, but maybe I should just go with a big ass full back tiger and be done with it :cool:
