    Full Back Piece Thread

I guess I should post mine here, since I've enjoyed this thread so much: By Jill "Horiyuki" Bonny, State of Grace, San Jose, CA. You can also see my Scott Sylvia cobra on my right elbow (with my itsty-bitsy Ben Grillo spider under it), and my left arm, the upper part of which was done by Eddy Deutsche back at 222 and the lower 2/3rd of which was done by Horitomo, also at State of Grace.

  4. On my slightly less hodge-podgey arm, I've got a three-eyed tiger head from the good Dave Wallin. My actual elbow is where the third eye is. Damn, sorry for the shitty photo.

  5. Hey guys! To celebrate Mother's day here in the UK, me and Stewart have painted a couple of flash sheets with Mother tattoo designs. We're putting them up for auction (originals only, there won't be any prints made) with 100% of the winning bid going to our charity of choice (mine is Age uk and Stewart's is Cancer Research UK) If you like what you see, please bid away and help spread the word, the more bids, the more the charity will earn! the winning bidder can also have them signed to them or have a message written on the back. We will also be tattooing mom tattoos on the day itself so should be fun and busy at the shop, can't wait. Thanks for checking this out! Mother’s Day @ Valerie Vargas

That Bert Grimm 'Duel in the sun' backpiece from earlier is very cool - love the double eagles and 'rising sun' motif. I like the Valerie Vargas back piece attached a lot. I think she could do an amazing take on the 'rock of ages'....? Another piece that has always stood out to me is this back piece by Shige (also attached). In his book it mentions that it is a tribute to the vanishing tradition of falconry in Japan. There's something very 'airy' about it.

  7. My husband tattooed nipples on a guy's elbows so that when he crossed his arms it looked like he had saggy boobs. The customer thought it was the funniest goddamn thing he'd ever seen thought of or heard. He was sure it'd be a source of hilarity for years to come. Must find the photo.... hold please....

    Old tattoo photos

My boss (Jack Witt) used to zap at a couple of different spots on the Pike (Lee Roy's, Long BeachTattoo) and has a killer scrapbook of vintage photos and business cards. I scanned all of them the other day. Being an ex-HA(apparently not an easy club to quit) and working on the Pike in the mid 70s, he has a boatload of great stories. I can't give ALL of the gems away, but here's some decent ones I can post.

  16. So you order a pizza and breadsticks from Pizzaman and when it arrives you find theyve only sent you breadsticks. well youve already paid for the order and you call Pizzaman and tell them. They say too bad---no pizza for you and we're keeping your $. Most people will agree that the damage that you have suffered at the hands of Pizzaman is not worthy of a large monetary award, however if Pizzaman knows that they can continue sending out incomplete orders without being held responsible - they might. So punitive damages or the threat of them is often enough to keep Pizzaman straight and honest.
