joakim urma got a reaction from Fala in Ass tattoos
Come on, once you get most of your thighs done and the backpiece is in place (not covering the your whole behind) sooner or later a time comes for getting the ass tattooed. Am I right? Would look really weird of you saved that part of your body but covered the rest. Personally I'm leaning towards marquesan style tribal, but haven't really thought too hard about this yet.
So for those of us who was not smart enough to extend the backpiece the whole way down, what are good type of designs/subjects/styles to be put bellow the belt? This is a threat to discuss and post pictures of your favorite tattoos centered around the butt.

Just got thumbs up from ol' Rudy Fritsch about the Scottish Convention in march next year. Getting my second elbow tattooed. Iain Mullen did my right elbow more than three years ago, and him + Rudy finished my backpiece at the convention this year. So this feels just perfect. Looking forward a lot!

joakim urma reacted to marley mission in Is this a good Tattoo idea?
I'll be direct here
Doubting yourself on this design is a good thing
Especially if you had ideas to use that exact script in the tattoo
On the positive - the idea of a getting a tattoo that symbolizes your struggle with OCD sounds like a cool one - but I think you should go with some imagery rather than text
And this next part is quite important - find a good artist
You've done the right thing coming here to ask some questions
Tattoos can be fun and impulsive things and work out just fine
But most of the time - it's better to slow it down and do some thinking and researching
It seems this is a case where you did have some doubt and it helped prevent you from making a bad decision - just my two cents - keep us updated

joakim urma reacted to bongsau in Ass tattoos
Waves and rocks, my backpiece extends all the way down.
Black in the crack, it creates a shadow effect, to make the tattoo fit naturally on the buttocks.
Go as deep as you and the tattooer feel comfortable with. If you don't, you'll be wishing you did and you will hesitate returning to the painful memories.
My ass tattooing session was a very valuable lesson in humility and vulnerability.
Plus my black ass looks fantastic now.
You should definately bring a wooden spoon or ask your tattooer for a piece of old leather to bite down on. Seriously.

Here's one that's all ready healed, hairy, a bit dry and shiny:
Chad Koeplinger made this at the Stockholm Inkbash in august this year. I wanted a meditating figure but not in buddhist or hindu style and send him a bunch of different ideas of present and historical cultures/religions to get him started. I was very happy when I arrived for the appointment and he decided to not draw one of my suggestions, and instead made this hopi indian in a thunderstorm. Also this is the first tattoo with tattoos that I have my body, and the first swastika. Happy about that

NYS has successfully postponed the law that would force tattooers to use single-use "ink-shots."
https://www.change.org/p/andrew-cuomo-david-carlucci-kenneth-zebrowski-new-york-state-department-of-health-change-nys-bill-s1421-2015-to-allow-the-use-of-disposable-ink-caps-in-tattooing/u/14481534?tk=BgSlyLPy2fyPrm01Hv1IPN4iDS5bpUU16wKuwP91sHA&utm_source=petition_update&utm_medium=email
Not sure if that link works for others, as it was a hotlink in an email that I got from change.org
Basically, it got postponed, but there is a new bill being written that may be very similar to the one that was postponed.

I'm finally taking the plunge, giving in to the art and getting my back piece.
Face it, I will never see this art. I will see reflections, photos and glimpses over my shoulder, but I will never see the whole piece as it was intended to be viewed.
Ever.
Based on some old Huck Spaulding flash, I need this winged tiger. I have given my artist (Iambillyhill.com) free reign to do as he wishes.
"Alan, we'll use this as a starting point and then I'm going to Billy Hill the fuck out of it!"
We do the outline today.
T minus two hours and counting.

This is a bit of a joint effort. The Dagger, Collar, Angel and Reaper (2-6 weeks old) are by Fergus Simms - Melbourne Tattoo Company, and the Eagle Snake fight (2.5 months old) is by Jess Swaffer - Chapel Tattoo.
Wanted to wait until the whole spot was done before i posted them up! Super happy with them, and two of the nicest tattoo experiences (bar the pain!) I've ever had.

Just got a copy of Higgs' "The Doomsday Bonnet" in the mail. Pretty cool stuff. Reminds me a lot of "Antwerp" by Roberto Bolaño.

First post, I come from Stockholm, I like tattoos and I find it quite difficult to navigate in this forum:) Ex lurker, never took the time to register an account until now.
Closer to 40 than 30, first tattoo I got was in 97. Got it covered last year.
Peace!

My right leg is starting to look like something, with two semi-big tattoos by Rudy Fritsch and Iain Mullen. Now let's pray to the internet gods
I will manage to post the two pictures I want this time...
edit: the juzu around my ankle by Bunshin Horimatsu too! #tebori

I realized that besides for instagram photos in the Latest Tattoo Lowdown-thread, I haven't uploaded any proper hi-res healed pictures of any one the tattoos I've gotten since I first registered here 3 years ago.
