The last painting was breath-taking in person. The extension of the painting beyond the canvas onto the frame was fucking rad.

Jake, he's an artist that shows at Gallery 22 on Post, I believe?

If we're mentioning paintings, here's one of my faves, although a pic could never do it justice:

I met a guy who was having every little scene from this painting tattoed somewhere on his body from a woman in NY, does this sound familiar to anyone?

No I saw it at the Frida Kahlo exhibit at the SF MOMA.

What painting was the guy getting tattooed on him? That sounds like it could be frustrating for an artist to translate that to skin. I don't know though, I don't tattoo, maybe not...?

Oh, duh, knew I saw it somewhere myself.

The guy was getting little scenes from Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights. The tats were beautiful, no computer pic could do it justice, but here it is-

Five stars.

I love Limonious album covers! Never a lack of slackness and they usually indicate killer dancehall music within.

    •  I woke up on my back a few times, i tried to avoid it but still managed to. I did 0 in way of aftercare, I kept the wrap on for a few hours after my tattoo then i took a shower and washed the gunk off and just left it. I took the following day of work so i could chill whilst it was a bit weapy but by the 3rd day i acted like i hadn't been tattooed. Healed fine.
    • Yes indeed ... how it heals up will be the true measure of how well I've done.

The outline had me wishing it was over already when I was only halfway through, so I was expecting the coloring to be hell ... but it was less painful.  :)  Either way, admittedly not the most pleasant place to get a tattoo! lol

Focusing on doing good work probably helps alot ...
    • As always, listen to your tattooer. But realistically a tattoo heals best with the less irritation and less sh*t that gets put on it. Re-wrapping at all is generally a no-no, especially no to the towel. As far as sleeping on it, the worst that happens is that you get stuck and have to take your sheet the next day into the shower with you. Maybe if you have a tendency to flip onto your back, propping some pillows around you to keep you from turning might work. Tattoos are pretty in-there from the get go so I wouldn't be too concerned.
