2013: The Bay Area Convention of Tattoo Arts

Recommended Posts

My wife and I will be in and out of the convention all weekend. We would be down to meet up whenever. Unfortunately, we will not be getting tattooed. My wife had an appointment with @Valerie Vargas but had to cancel because she is pregnant. (A very positive thing coupled with a bit of disappoint in not being able to get tattooed.) Anyways, I look forward to meeting everyone.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! That's awesome news.

I can't help but wonder however, about the masses who tried to scramble into that vacated slot. I'm surprised you didn't step in to keep it in the family. ha ha. Wait, has it been filled yet?

Looks like it starts at 5pm and runs till 11pm on Friday. Bummer for me, since I'll have to run for the BART by 6 or 7 to see previous said friends in SF. Hmmm, friends vs. tattoo convention. Decisions, decisions...

It runs 11am-11pm Saturday and 11am-6pm Sunday.

I have friends from out of town visiting me that weekend. I was contemplating bringing them to SFO. They're not into tattoos as much as I am, but I think they are open to checking it out.

@hogg @tammy

lets make this happen even if its just meeting in the lobby

@Lance @a1steaks @ian @cltattooing @CABS @cvportagee @Reyeslv @beez @9Years @petiloi @embers @MoistTowelette @SacramentoDan

and anyone else going

i'll for sure be wandering around on Friday with a camera and brown canvas backpack. not sure if i'm gonna make it Saturday and Sunday, but it's highly likely. think it'd annoy the artist if a meet location was by someone with a set appointment? saw that @embers has an appointment with Bryan Burk on Friday... just a thought.

Having my back worked on by Junii @ Diamond Club booth from opening til 7ish...that video just made me realize how open air the tattoo environment is...should have thought about that! HAH!

Thanks for posting @Hands On!

I'll be around Friday, for sure, just checkin' things out. I feel like I should write LST (#squidpants) on my forehead. ;p

    • First let me say I've never seen exactly that related to tattoos. Second, I am NOT a doctor, so take any advice with a grain of salt and follow it at your own risk. I do have something like that which appears on my face from time to time. After multiple visits to the dermatologist, which didn't fix it, I finally came up with my own treatment. Whenever it flairs up, I just wipe the area down with plain rubbing alcohol three or four times a day to keep it dry. That usually works within a couple of days. Again, I'm not a doctor, but I don't think it would hurt anything for you to try that. Good Luck.
    • Hey, I have a serious problem! I got a tattoo in Manila 4 weeks ago. The artist is very well known and is one of the most renowed. 2 day after tattooing, small pimples began to form on my thight an many at the tattoo. 3 days later i had fever at night (just at night). After that, the pimpels began to spread very quickly all over the body. (back stomach etc..) I have now been to 3 doctors and everyone is at a loss. The blood work is fine and with no anomalies. Antibiotic ointment and cortisone ointment did not help. Xyzall allergy tablets did not help either. When i took cortisone tablets, 90% of the pimpels disappeared on the tattoo, but not on the other parts of the body. Now that I´am no longer taking cortisone, the pimpels on the tattoo are starting to grow back again very quick. On the other parts of the skin , the pimpels are sometimes lighter and sometimes stronger. This can be change hourly. They don´t hurt and hardy lever itch. Of course I´am afraid of a tattoo allergie. Has anyone already had this problem ? Does anyone know what that could be ? I add photos: 1) Photo directly after tattooing. 2) 2 Photos with the pimpels after a week 3) After 3 weeks while taking cortisone. 4) Photo of the body on the left.
