  1. Many people have seen this all ready I guess. By Jondix, 11 days ago. Had such a great time. Stayed at the shop past midnight, talking and eating after the session. Everybody should get something from him. Super good heart, attitude and knowledge of tattooing and art. Wrathful offering of the five senses by Jonas Nyberg from last year.

  2. Actually I never realized about someone staring (in the bad way) my tattoos. I think it's more about don't thinking about it and then you will not realize about people staring the bad way to your tattoos. Just change your mind and stop worrying! I never worried about people staring or judging my tattoos, and that's why I think I never watched nobody doing so! I just realized about compliments and admiring glances! I have a funny and cute tattoo on my leg (a pile of kawaii cats. You can check it on my instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/BDfk1qNvAYD/?taken-by=polymernai ), and, even when I

@Intomyskin You'll never be able to do it yourself. It's like saran wrap. One wrong twist and it tangles in itself and that strip is done. Do what @Graeme said, soap, water, time, patience.

  4. It's funny - something I'd not noticed with other people who work with me who are inked and perhaps I'm probably one of the last people they expected to get a tattoo (probably not too many college presidents sporting ink ) - that people keep asking me to see my work and want to touch it. I think they truly believe it is fake and are waiting for the late April Fools joke.

  5. For me, the best thing I found to do after a session on my back was to just hop in the shower and clean the area tattooed with a new bar of soap. Make sure the water is luke warm and set the shower head to a mist setting so there is barely any water pressure. If you find any clothing sticking to you just shower with your clothes on and once it's wet it will be easy to remove. Once you see the water going into the drain is clear it's time to hop out and gently pat yourself dry. From there you can follow whatever after care method you find best suited for you.

Yeah, I can't picture trying to apply tagiderm to your own back - by yourself. Are you going to have a day after the session for your back to dry out a bit? Alternatively I'd consider dedicating a clean t-shirt to the travel time, avoid prolonged time against the back of the seat and just un-stick it periodically.

  8. I got a 3 hour Samoan tatau all the way around my knee this past weekend. The knee cap, the sides, the ditch... all of it. As I walked back to my convention booth, a lady stopped me to look at it. My knee looked like a bloody watermelon. She actually said, "Did you feel it?" I said, "What?" She replied, "I know some tattoos hurt, but could you even feel this kind of tattoo?" I told her that it felt like they were trying to cut my leg off... and hobbled away. 9. Just popping in. I'm still healing from my most recent work, so I'm on a little break right now.

  10. I came from a rough background, drinking & drugs (don't ask what I did for a living between 1977 and 1981), fixing cars for a living, motorcycles, street racing and ultimately stock cars. So a lot of people I knew had tattoos and it was totally accepted. I was the first with big pieces done. With all I went through with some really close calls, I still give my wife (RIP) credit for saving my life. Now I'm 61, 6' tall, 255 lbs and am in the gym 3 days most weeks, I'm kind of hard to miss. As I said earlier, people now look the other way and give me lots of room. Partly which is fine since

I have very limited experience with the -derm products but I do have a full back's experience with getting a backpiece. All you need to heal a backpiece is soap, water, time, and patience.

    New member...not so new

Hi Everyone! I thought I'd introduce myself - probably a little different than your normal newbie. I just got my first tattoo about 10 days ago so I'm still in the healing process. I guess you could say it took me a long time to decide..I will turn 61 at the end of this month. :) My initial inspiration was my father, a WWII and Korean Conflict Marine who sported a killer skull with a snake intertwined in the eyes and mouth. I never did anything about it and later, as an officer in the U.S. Army, tattoos were not generally accepted in the officer corps. After retiring from the Army, I began to

  16. I also got tattooed by Chad on Friday 3/18 at Name Brand. I had met him a few times before and sitting with him for a couples hours shooting the shit was fun. He did lament a bunch about settling down. He had a lot of "I'm really burned out travelling" vibes going on in what he was saying. He said he missed having a house to come home to and thought that maybe his time had passed to open up his own shop now that he'll be almost 40 (practically a kid..ha!). We had a long conversation about pizza and he said he would love to open a pizza place....no frills, just "a great slice shop" as he put it
