Any metalheads out there?

Recommended Posts

black breath-i've got the full length also but this little 5 song ep on repeat is relentlessly good

agalloch-they've got elements of folk and black metal with some doom in there.

horseback-the invisible mountain

a storm of light

lair of the minotaur-seriously brutal (you'll have to sign in to google/youtube to see the uncut version but it's worth it)

gots a few more that got played frequently over the past year but must finish laundry

@dcostello that ghoul track was excellent!

@jayessebee - Dude, I saw H.O.F. a few months back at this small(er) club here in Sacramento. They were intense. Here's a cool interview with Pike where he runs through some of his tattoos.

Nobody has mentioned Morbid Angel yet. Everyone shit all over Illud Divinum Insanus, but I thought it was pretty goddamn decent. David Vincent is the man.

yea i got the metal blinders on right now. Stuck in a black metal kick for awhile now. I still say that some of the craziest individuals came out of black metal.

Also some of the most hilarious music videos!

Rule 65. be sure to piece together a music video of scrap footage of yourself walking around in the woods at night looking evil. Only, instead of being night make sure it's the middle of the @#%$ day, and instead of looking evil, look dorky instead. (See also: rule 1)

Been on an Abigail Williams kick for a while. Not their best song, but the wolves at the end of the song at like 5:30 give me the chills, in the best of ways.

Also dig this ^ cheesy looking video. Breakdowns pretty good too.

    • I’m currently working on my sleeve and I’m about halfway done with it. I noticed now that there’s a small smell on my tattoo. I can’t smell it from a distance and only can smell it when I get super close to my tattoo. I’m just concerned with the thought of an infection but I’ve done everything the same I have with my 7 other tattoos. I have no unusual pain with it and it isn’t red or inflamed. Just would like a little advice on what to do?
    • Hey! Wouldn't by chance be going to the empire state ny tattoo expo would ya?  In any case, i did a 3 day marathon and boy was it tough. i did the ole soap and a balm that my artist provided. With that being said, you should 100% ask your artist(s) as they know how they tattoo and how their tattoos heal for the most part. They should tell you what to do but i've heard many great things about saniderm. Best of luck!
    • Hi all.  Looking for some advice here.  I'm attending an upcoming 3 day tattoo convention and was thinking about getting tattooed each day.  My dilemma would be about the healing process.  Basically I'm curious if anyone has done this before and how they healed.  I know the go-to answer will be Saniderm/Tegaderm, but I have used that stuff a few times and even though I healed fine, something about covering my tattoo with a sticky bandage just makes me paranoid something will get trapped in there.  I end up not liking it because I spend too much time worrying.  But on the other hand, if I just use the soap & aquaphor method, I'm afraid that won't be any good because I'll be around a lot of people and I'll be getting another tattoo in the same area (all 3 would be on my legs).  I'm worried about the tattoo being exposed or possibly infected, or just not heal well because of everything going on.  Thanks for reading this far and I appreciate any advice that is offered.

I couldn't find a thread like this, but it may exist. For those of us that are also musicians, it is always funs to geek out on gear that you have and gear that you want. Kind of like when we geek out on the tattoos we have or are wanting to get.
      My set up
Guitars: Gibson Les Paul Standard, American Standard Telecaster
Effects (in chain order): Boss TU-3 --> Fulltone OCD --> Boss DD-7 --> EHX Holy Grail Reverb
      Amp: Marshall JCM900 4100
Cabinet: Orange 2x12 with Warehouse Speakers Veteran 30s
Pretty simple and straight forward. I don't like too much mucking up my signal, but I need some delay and reverb for volume swells.
