  1. Hi all,

Long time posting here (I must post up my latest pieces here).

Myself and the better half our currently touring South East Asia for a few months and starting to get the itch for another tattoo...

Where we have left to visit is: Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Does anyone have any particular shops or artists they could recommend?

We hope to make it to Melbourne at the end of the trip to visit friends (finances permitting!) so will definitely be getting work there if I don't get anything I'm Asia.

    Thanks again,

    Paddy

  2. Just booked in with Forrest Cavacco (intsa: iamthecobra) in Plymouth MA in June :5_smiley:

I arrive the week beginning 18th June and have an apt for the 22nd. Will be getting a snake across my stomach/ribs to go in tandem with my chest eagle (a 'Battle Royale'-type scene). Will hopefully get the remainder finished during my time in Boston over the summer.

Attached is the current chest piece for reference (by Chris Stuart in Charlotte and Limerick, Ireland).

  3. Hi all,

Long time since I posted here so I really must update with my latest pieces.

Anyway,  myself and the better half are taking some time out to do a bit of travelling this year and want to line up some potential tattoo appointments along the way.

The current plan is is the following:

summer in Boston (have a few shops in mind there), a few weeks in Cuba and Colombia. Back to Ireland for a coupe of weeks and then onto South East Asia; two months touring Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos then a month in Phillipines and a month in Indonesia.

We may get in a few other places depending on finances etc.

I'd like to get a hand-poked tattoo at some stage but obviously want to be going in eyes wide open and to a good artist.

Any my other recommendations for shops/artists along our route? We're mostly into traditional work but not exactly restricted in that sense.

    Thanks again, folks!

  4. So, this turned out way better than I could have expected. Got it finished in two sessions with the second one at Allstar Ink in Limerick, Ireland. Chris Stuart was guesting there for a day prior to the London convention so I was lucky enough to grab the spot.

A great experience again. I couldn't speak highly enough of Chris and the atmosphere was enhanced with the liked of Nagle, Peck, Topper, Noble, Arment all working there on the same day.

Anyway, I'll let the pic do the talking ?

  5. his mass stop was on July 9th at Redemption Tattoo in Cambridge.

Worry not though. He'll be at the Montreal convention (worth the 4.5 hr drive)  and most certainly will be back in Portsmouth, nh at some point (also worth the trip)

Didn't realise he was in Redemption. Would have tried to get in if I was on the ball!

    Cheers

  6. Took me way too long to post this. Got a pretty nice start on the chest by Chris Stuart in Charlotte back in early June.

Hopefully get the rest finished at the Pagoda City convention.

Couldn't recommend Chris highly enough. Great experience in the shop. He's since moved to his new place in midtown which looks awesome

  7. @Padji Chris is an amazing tattoo artist. If you check his instagram, I got the pineapple drinking a coconut craziness not too long ago from him. You couldn't ask for a more humble and considerate artist. He is one of those old school guys who can really do it all (not saying he's old). You'll get something awesome I'm sure.

Also, depending on how long you stay, if you want some tips for shit to do in Charlotte just let me know.

Thank SH, have been living Chris' work for a long time.

Hopefully going to be in Charlotte for just under a week so by all means send through some recommendations. Thanks!

  8. And then the following Friday, i headed over to Leeds in England for a pre-planned trip with a mate who was getting his first piece from Lukasz Christopher. I was booked in with Tom Flanagan - both in Oddfellows.

I got a trad ship on my shin and a mandala on my foot (a Tom Flanagan staple). I have to sat, the foot was horrendously sore and not gonna go through it again any time soon!

We had a great time in Oddfellows, Tom is a great guy and the other lads in the shop made us feel right at home.

And the next morning. Swelling on the foot wasn't actually too bad

  9. The next weekend I was in Boston and in a very hungover and jet lagged state, I landed into Redemption in Cambridge to get a little piece done to fill in an awkward gap on my left sleeve.

Very luckily, Todd Noble (who I love) had a free spot to take the walk in. After some deliberation he drew on this little snake head.

    Again, not a great snap...

  10. So, I've had a busy couple of weeks tattoo-wise. First, Paul Aherne in Dublin started extending me 3/4 sleeve on my right arm down to the wrist. Got the lining of the koi, water and peony done as well as the wind bars in.

Paul is guesting in Salon Serpent in Amsterdam coming up to Christmas so will get the bottom portion finished in early Jan. Then we'll look at relining the old sleeve, touching up the wind bars and just general tidying up the shitty parts (of which there are plebty!).

    Apologies for the bad pics...

  11. Hi all, seems like every time I'm on here it's to seek advice on a tattooer! Anyway, looks like I may be in Boston next summer for a few months and may well be there for a weekend before Christmas. Any recommendations on a good shop/artists in the city?

Forrest Cavacco is in Plymouth I think? Is that far away from Boston?

  12. So sorry about her health, but happy to hear of the planned wedding. Lots of time, and there will be plenty of artists around always. In addition, it will give her more time to study and plan the perfect cover-up.

Cheers man, hopefully taking a trip to the states for the honeymoon. I'm already lining up potential appointments so maybe both of us will have a couple of new pieces when we return!
