beez 410 Posted April 5, 2014 Polish Prison Tattoos Look what I found! These tattoos outlasted their owners. There's a cool skull and snake, a random guy on a bike (no mustache), some very interesting couplings...pretty cool tattoos. :) 14 daveborjes, tattooedj, polliwog and 11 others reacted to this

SeeSea 943 Posted April 5, 2014 That whole website has some crazy stuff. Look at the Topics pull down (near top right) for one called "the wrong side of history." Very strange stuff.

oldjermybastard 0 Posted April 11, 2014 Wow. That one still has a nipple. Gnarly. I read on Sang Blue that the Japanese government has hundreds of preserved full body suits but they don't display them publicly for whatever reason.

MadeIndelible 122 Posted May 5, 2014 It's crossed my mind. Mine as well. But, it's interesting an interesting argument, whether tattoos are made to be worn by the wearer until death and then lost to time, or preserved in museums and such for posterity. OutOfIdeas 257 Posted May 6, 2014 There's a company that you can sign your body away to, and after you die they use your skin to make leather products. I believe they then pay your family a bunch of money. Apparently, human leather makes the best products; our skin is so soft and such small pores, it makes incredibly soft leather. My first thought was a wallet, with one of my distinct tattoos on it, for my son (if I had one). Be a little creepy, but it's whatever. Found the site a few years back, not 100% sure its still a thing, but they made everything. Briefcases, shoes, belts, you name it.
polliwog 866 Posted May 6, 2014 It was once "somewhat common" to bind books with human skin If you're enterprising, narcissistic and not averse to being thought of as crazy, you could bind a book of photographs of your tattoos with your backpiece. OutOfIdeas 257 Posted May 6, 2014 Books bound in human skin was actually what started the conversation and subsequent internet search (yea, we used our time well in high school) that led to the human leather product website. Your backpeice bound tattoo photo album idea is next level though. Good call! 1 polliwog reacted to this
