Aw HELL yeah. I hope it makes it further north eventually. There are some amazing collections of Asian art in New England, so I'm hoping some enterprising museum director realises it as a good fit.

I am so excited that it's coming to the vmfa... When they announced it I was honestly surprised considering most things that come to here. Maybe it's time to renew my museum membership again.

Richmond is dope. If you guys do a roadtrip/meet up, let me know. I'm having a baby in the spring, so life is going to get hectic, but I have off all summer, so I'm sure I could get away for a day or two. It'd be cool to see this with people that would really appreciate it.

I'll be back in NC in July and RVA is only about a 3 hour drive so I'm definitely going to try to make it up there at some point.

RVA is pretty damn cool, and lots of good tattooers/shops there as well. I actually think it's pretty underrated in terms of hots spots for tattooing.

and a newer place I don't know too much about, but Rempe is tattooing there now, Lakeside Tattoo Co.

Also, I'm pretty sure Timothy Hoyer got his start in Richmond, might have been like the only person tattooing there at one point.

I was watching Modern Family earlier, and the mother and daughter were about to get a matching tattoo for the daughter's 21st birthday. Long story short, the mom got the classic Sanskrit ankle tattoo. Also, the two gay uncles referred to flower tattoos as "gay." Just reinforced my thoughts about tattoos in mass media. Couldn't find the tattoos in the media thread, so I posted here.

Wasn't quite sure where to put this, but there's an article about Daredevil Tattoo in Inked, about the museum pieces at the shop. Anyway, I thought some of you tattoo history buffs might be interested in the old flash. :)
