Really excited with this fresh one on my knee, Tattooed by Norbert at Hunter and Fox in Sydney.

Another progress shot. Did a bit of colour as I didn't fancy having new work on both sides of arse and thighs at the same time. I can't wait till we get away from the arse and thigh area. :(

emailed tony hundahl late last night trying my luck and seeing if he had any space open to tattoo me at the convention on saturday. 2 hours later and he messaged me back and said he left a bunch of space for walk ups and asked what i wanted. so now i'm getting tattooed by him on saturday around 3 or 4. i can't wait

This happened yesterday. @cltattooing did an awesome job, had a really fun experience. Super fun shop, great people all around. Thanks again Carolyn! It was great to meet you and I'm super pumped with my tattoo! (Hopefully this works right. I suck with technology)

Just to add to the discussion of "it's different for everyone;" before we started my torso, Chad told me my belly would be the worst spot, so he'd work his way down there. When we took a little break to pour more ink and spin me around for the other side, Joe was looking sympathetic and says "that head must've been rough, I remember getting tattooed in that spot." So, there's two tattooers and all the anecdotal information I've read on here saying I should have been miserable when my belly was being lined, but I had a much harder time with my chest and shoulders. Granted, the whole thing was rough, wish I could have slept better the night before.

Finally my next session with Dana is approaching this Monday. It feels like a real long time since the last time he tattooed me.

Ended up at Smith Street today and it just so happened that Eli Quinters had time for a walk in. Really happy with my panther. Will have to get to Mike Perfetto at a later date. Attached is a pic right after it was finished

Another thing I'd say about selling supplies to the public...it is the opposite of supporting tattooing or the "industry". These are also the folks who will usually have the most difficult time finding legit shops to work in or apprenticeships. Anyone who is truly passionate about tattooing, they are out getting tattoos and forming bonds and relationships with people who are doing tattoos in shops who have dedicated their life to it. People who really support tattooing and get tattooed are the ones who, over time, are fortunate enough to find someone who will give them a shot.

So solid @Shaggy That spot can get tiresome. @hogg dropped some wisdom on me that I'd like to share. Use deep breathing like you are trying to blow out candles that are 30 feet away. My abs are usually exhausted after a session of breathing like that, but it works.

I finished this yesterday and I'm really happy with it. Which isn't to say that it's perfect, because there are a lot of things I'll do differently next time, but it was the best I could do and I'm proud of it.

Right you are, Ken! I think that those 'douche bags' are douche bags because of their personality, not their tattoos. You could be a douche bag with a kickass peice, but that doesn't make you any less or more of a douche bag. I don't think tying tattoos to a person's presonality is a mean's to discuss the art form in any capacity. I think that most people are here because they genuinely appreciate and respect tattooing as a practice and art form (all styles). I think most of us here are enthusiasts and we can appreciate all styles, even if we personally would not choose to wear it. Ultimately, to each their own. I don't care what somebody else is wearing. If I see a cool piece, hell yeah I'll admire it and ask questions but in the end I'll wear what I want and I have no reason to challenge others on their choices. Just my 2 cents.

I love that LST is always on the same page when it comes to shoddy ideas/tattooing. You guys make my heart swell.

Hi! Bomba here. Just found this site while browsing the web. I'm a fellow artist and I draw digitally and traditionally. I've always been intrigued by the concept of tattooing. I love the fact of someone being able to create art on our bodies. Being able to carry something you love permanently on your skin. I've always been interested in pursuing a career as a tattoo artist but that dream is put on hold for while or until I can find a reputable shop that can take me in as an apprentice, which won't be happening anytime soon do to the fact that the Most of the shops in my area don't really have skilled artists and those shops who do are close to imposible to obtain an apprenticeship in so I'll stick to my sketchbook for the time being. Buying a cheap kit online (which I will not do) won't make me into the tattoo artist I hope to become someday. Here are some of my work. My traditional is all on paper I will make sure to scan it into my PC and show you all. Critiques and tips on my ART is welcomed because I definitely know I have a lot to improve on.

Selling supplies to the public defeats the purpose of what you say you're trying to accomplish with this school. Not that you care about it, but you're not allowed to solicit on the forum, which is just a small reason why people are responding the way they are. There's no point in trying to explain why people will think that you're an interloper.

not 100% sure yet, i told him maybe an eagle or a cobra or something. i'm not picky and i know whatever he does will be awesome so if he has anything else in mind i won't be opposed to it haha

Yeah, I know that they are selling to the public. They have stuff on amazon and they are in my home town. I was just curious if they'd admit it here.

@petiloi and @beez, such great work on both of you! I love Diamond Club. I was lucky enough to see Bill and Junii yesterday at the Japanese National Museum in Los Angeles. I also got this in LA from Horisuzu: Perfect fit. I'm so happy with it.

Thanks @Cork Yeah I have to say I am pretty over the arse and thighs at the moment. I am dealing with the pain of the tattooing ok just sick of the healing side of things. Sitting on 1 side of arse, limping around at work, hovering over the toilet etc. Hopefully only about 2 more sessions of shading and an additional chunk of outline work on right thigh (due to an old tattooing not fading as well as the rest) and we will be returning to the back for colour which will be healing heaven. :)

Durr. I guess my humor detector is down tonight. I think my very first post on here was a question about healing linework. Predictably, it healed up fine. It's not the same thing as writing a bad Yelp review as I blamed myself, but in retrospect it could have caused problems. Live and learn.

If the outside of your upper arm is free I would go there and I'm sure your artist will as well. It's a pretty flat and easy to read surface. I have one there and also on the inside of my calves.

legs hanging out from a short sleeve definitely adds to the "tease" effect!

haha - never have sen the show - however - i must confess that the tattoo that inspired this one was apparently inspired from said show i just saw the picture and thought it was so odd and cool plus i am a coffee addicted fool anyway - my explanation of my reasoning for getting this tattoo was just that i liked the image odd funny interesting are my main rules of engagement :)

Remember I know nothing - I'm trying to go through the whole forum to understand the different types of tattoos, especially the traditional. I just saw the Ed Hardy video on black panthers that someone linked to on this forum somewhere - omg I had no idea of the tradition and wonderful simplicity of these panthers - I have so much more appreciation of them, now. I don't think I want one (yet!), but maybe I would like a traditional white tiger in the style of the panther - just black and greys (except for those blue eyes). I never would have thought I'd go for something that traditional - maybe the panther or tiger coming out of the traditional rose. Perhaps to get an appreciation for any art, it's important to see many good examples of it - the gallery is really helping me, and I'm "making" my way through the "What makes a good tattoo" thread. After all, I was attracted to tattoos from the beginning looking at my Uncles WWII Navy ones. Hope this is not out of line here.

Yes, so this happened! LST meet-up!!! Unfortunately Lance went back to JANM before Stella took our picture. I don't want to ruin @hogg's tough guy ban hammer reputation or anything, but what a great guy! Lance, too--but we already knew that. Great to see those tattoos in person, too.

@beez Speaking as somebody who recently acquired a butt snake of my own, BUTT SNAKES FOREVER! Also, you're completely nuts for getting tattooed three days on a single trip. @Eilin That is superb! I love it!

Finally finished this backpiece by Valerie Vargas at FST :)

Hi guys!! For those who have not seen on Instagram, I was a dumbass and scheduled three days of getting zapped on my last trip to SF. That shit is hard on the body!!!!! @cltattooing made an awesome stabby skull for me, and then we hung out w @CABS, who is an alright type of guy (understatement of the season!). Junii added color to my froggy, some shading and background and outlined a peony on my thigh. We started the first snake! Matt (dr claw) started on my serene butt snake. Shad will be starting the mean back snake in October, and Junii is doing the thigh snake (I think?!) I was not the only one getting my butt drilled (word choice?) in the shop that day. I had the pleasure of watching Drew Flores begin one of the backpieces that is part of the 108 heroes of LA project. How cool is that?!? Also @petiloi was in the shop getting some work done by Bill Salmon. Hi!!! I did not identify myself bc, you know, tattoos. But it was cool anyway! Pics attached. Warning: Butt ahead!! (Nice asp, I know. Tips hat to @CultExciter for that one).

Been a while since ive checked back on here but heres a few pics of the panther and the parrot i got from Chad K at the Amsterdam convention back in May, its really hard to get a good picture of a shoulder but Chad drew the parrot to fit the space perfectly. Also a Mum heart i got as a walk in from Jordan Baxter at Black Garden a couple of weeks back, picture pinched from his instagram.

Yup @DJDeepFried! As @hogg says, I'll be at JANM for Junii's talk so plan to meet with him before his appointment/Junii's presentation. You and @TrixieFaux should come over too!
