I like to see you young guns pumping out traditional work. And they are killin' it. Someone has got to keep it going.

Rob

One of my best buds tattoos out of plattsbugh NY. His name is Andrew Stortz. you should check him out since you live 6 hours south. He travels a lot so you could catch him a little closer i am sure.

I had the pleasure of working alongside Austin this last summer in Provincetown, Mass. he's a great dude that does killer work.

Wendy Pham's work is always blowing my mind.

also, Richard Smith and Zac Scheinbaum are two seriously killer NYC artists. would love work from either. great thread.

Richard Smith did this cool ass reaper on my thigh, and he can't be older than 25 or 26. As a 24 year old, I enjoy getting tattooed by people close to my age. When he put this on me he said he had been tattooing for two and a half years.

I need to amend my earlier post to say that Rich apparently just turned 30. Oh well, still young.

Anthony Tex at Deadly Tattoos in Calgary, Canada is a pretty rad artist. I think he's 21 or 22 and has been tattooing for a few years. His dad is James Tex (who is fucking phenomenal) so he's obviously had amazing tutoring for the techniques, on top of his obvious natural ability in art.

Here's his instagram

And here's the shop link for Deadly

That's how you do a fucking portrait! Bold outlines and shading, yet still captures the essence and life of the character it depicts.

Really inspiring some looking at some of these younger Tattooers work.

Only problem is when he said this in the episode he already had his goatee. Maybe they will have to add some hair to his chin.post-51117-146168871761_thumb.jpg

Damn... ^ that dude fuckin rocks!

Pat Whiting? If so, I agree. I've connected with him on IG and he seems super humble. Gives lots of respect to his teacher and engages with people. I remember him posting his first tattoo (it was a month or two before my first) and being pretty blown away. He seems to be a young, natural talent.

    • First let me say I've never seen exactly that related to tattoos. Second, I am NOT a doctor, so take any advice with a grain of salt and follow it at your own risk. I do have something like that which appears on my face from time to time. After multiple visits to the dermatologist, which didn't fix it, I finally came up with my own treatment. Whenever it flairs up, I just wipe the area down with plain rubbing alcohol three or four times a day to keep it dry. That usually works within a couple of days. Again, I'm not a doctor, but I don't think it would hurt anything for you to try that. Good Luck.
    • Hey, I have a serious problem! I got a tattoo in Manila 4 weeks ago. The artist is very well known and is one of the most renowed. 2 day after tattooing, small pimples began to form on my thight an many at the tattoo. 3 days later i had fever at night (just at night). After that, the pimpels began to spread very quickly all over the body. (back stomach etc..) I have now been to 3 doctors and everyone is at a loss. The blood work is fine and with no anomalies. Antibiotic ointment and cortisone ointment did not help. Xyzall allergy tablets did not help either. When i took cortisone tablets, 90% of the pimpels disappeared on the tattoo, but not on the other parts of the body. Now that I´am no longer taking cortisone, the pimpels on the tattoo are starting to grow back again very quick. On the other parts of the skin , the pimpels are sometimes lighter and sometimes stronger. This can be change hourly. They don´t hurt and hardy lever itch. Of course I´am afraid of a tattoo allergie. Has anyone already had this problem ? Does anyone know what that could be ? I add photos: 1) Photo directly after tattooing. 2) 2 Photos with the pimpels after a week 3) After 3 weeks while taking cortisone. 4) Photo of the body on the left.
