This was done by Gina at Studio 69 Tattoo on Long Island, NY last month. Picture is right after it was finished. I have a follow up appointment on 1/8 to complete the forearm sleeve. Rob

And this happened yesterday! I love Caturdays. By Horitomo at State of Grace (duh!). The outline and black shading are by machine. The white shading is by tebori. well lets hope this works. If a picture shows up it's my latest by Jan Willem at 25 to life tattoo in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. this picture is taken after i took off the wrapping 12 hours after it was done. Now a week later its still a bit scabby and gnarly so this will have to do. When i posted this picture in the latest tattoo lowdown last week it showed up as broken a few days later so i hope this one remains till the end of the month

Just finished off my right shoulder. It's now linked with my chest piece. I'll post a pic next week, when I finish the other shoulder. As usual the work was done by Tim Pausinger at The Pearl. There was a dude at the Montreal convention this year who got half his head tattooed by Chad Koeplinger one day and Mike Rubendall the next. Goddamn maniac.

Dave Gibson's interview in ITA back in 95 hit me so hard, I decided to leave the Marine's and tattoo full time. Mike Wilson's interview further back in the mag sealed it up for me. I was a goner after that hahahahaha.

Another vote for Aaron Coleman, people fly from all over the world to visit tattooers such as Aaron Coleman.

I have a cousin that had some work done there. Her work done by Christine.... In the Phoenix Area you HAVE to go to Immaculate Tattoo in Mesa. Aaron Coleman is a master and he will not disappoint.

Aw what the hell. I wasn't going to post this because, most of what I see here is just so epic. This isn't particularly epic but, I like it just the same. This was my first real 'impulse' tattoo. I was hell bent on getting some kind of little banger as a souvenir of an awesome trip to Vancouver. I wanted to get something done at Gastown but they were fully booked so I walked around til I found a place that had time for a walk in. Normally I would be a lot more fussy but, I wanted it right then and there. I had always wanted a sparrow/swallow, and I liked the date so I threw that in too. Vancouver is the place of my birth and although I haven't lived there since infancy, it always feels very strongly like home when I'm there. So, yeah..... :) Oh, and, pardon the nipple LOL

I have more work from Horitomo than you do, but that doesn't mean I don't feel a deep, visceral jealousy when I look at these (co-sign, @Graeme). Congrats, buddy!

Ha, small world. I was actually getting a little burned out from getting tattooed (and traveling to get tattooed) all the goddamn time, so getting an extra month to recharge is almost more of a relief than it is a bummer.

I had to cancel my back session for today with Grez--maybe one of you NY locals got to nab the cancelation?--so I get to wait until the end of the month. Looking forward to it since we started the coverup portion last time, and that old tattoo was kind of creepy BEFORE it had half a face! Other than that I'll be at the printmaking conference in San Francisco for a few days in March and will probably get something small. Unless I am so crippled by indecision that I wind up getting nothing!

A went to a Yeezus concert this summer with my girlfriend. It was actually a cool concert. I had out it out there that I didn't like Kanye when we first started dating, but I got converted to fandom.

If it's a legit shop with legit tattooists, who cares? It can bring in new customers and it's kind of fun. Taylor Street in Chicago usually does Friday 13th, they're "$13 + $7 tip" and usually just line work, but they're fun. Nothing BAD. Same with Halloween, usually something. I've gotten a few and they're cool and done well. They also do "Traditional Tuesdays" were you can drop $50 and get a cool classic Rollo or Jerry (or other) designs. Name day, "Get what you get" ($50, gum ball machine with random flash, fun for everyone!) I've also had larger work done there too so it's not like I'm a total cheap skate. If all you want tattooed are large tattoo's in certain styles, yeah, not for you. If you love little jammers now and then, just make sure it's a good shop. To me, it's a combo of just fun and a solid way to draw new people into your shop. So no harm, no fowl. I don't see it as something only "kitchen wizards" do or something to turn your nose up to. If a shop DOESN'T, good, that's their thing. Not for everyone. If you're a jaghole who calls every shop looking for a deal, screw off asshole. If it's not on their website, or FB, or Instagram, or whatever, don't go bugging hard working people with your shit.

Awwww! Thanks @Graeme , @hogg , @Delicious , @TrixieFaux , et al. I love that picture, I was stunned when I saw it. I was flipping through the photographer's favorites from the wedding and there it was. I hadn't realized she took that picture. (Admittedly, I'd put back a few by that time of the night!!) I honestly had no idea how awesome the tattoos all look together - I never see them from afar like that, never see them the way a distant observer would. It's no wonder I get stopped on the streets!! :)

My Grandfather told me that his tattoos were a secret code to other fishermen and sailors, like a weird sea-faring Masonic thing. I was with him in a pub in Dublin as a kid and someone bought him a drink. He claimed it was because of his mermaid tattoo, but the guy probably just owed him. Might have file this one under 'bullshit my grandfather told me'.

Armbands that connect are bad luck. Variation: Armbands that connect can cut off the circulation and your arm will fall off. Face/hand/neck tattoos are illegal. I always feel bad posting right after Stewart. He goes into so much detail that it makes my two sentence posts seem lazy. Perhaps by mentioning this fact it will add a little bit of 'meat' to my post and make it seem like I have more than a ten word vocabulary.
