  3. timothy hoyer prints: Home / Three Hours Past Midnight Also wanted to share my custom frame source: http://stores.ebay.com/Custom-Framing-Factory-Outlet?_trksid=p2047675.l2563 Each these frames (including glass, mat, and backing) was less than $25. If you email them they will cut custom frame and mat sizes. Great option for inexpensive prints. Much classier looking than the off the shelf stuff from places like Michael's.

  4. Zillah, There are so many things I could say about you kiwis but some things I am too sheepish to talk about. Sorry I couldn't help myself. :) Cork, Both of my sleeves and back are in his instagram feed. But as far as your question goes I am the snake and warrior back piece guy. The backpiece was designed based on a Utagawa Kuniyoshi drawing which I will try and attache. BrianH, Still trying to sort out pics etc but I have attached the last session Instragram photo as posted by Kian. Doesn't show the whole back the best as the last session was just outline on upper right leg and right ass. On right thigh you can still see the last of my 4 original tattoos still being removed. That was my 1st and is proving to be the toughest to remove. If you look closely you maybe able to see the last remains of 2 decent sized pieces on shoulder blades.

  5. My lovely man took me out for dinner tonight for my birthday. Amazing food and wine, and great company. After 17 years together, we never struggle for conversation, he still makes me laugh and is my best friend. Sorry for the sappy post, but I feel so incredibly lucky, I would be lost without him.

After 6 weeks with no sessions (wow, this is what it feels like to be able to swim, wear bras, move freely without shirts sticking to me?!?!), I'm back in the saddle on Friday night to resume the grind. And there's a big family graduation party/pool party on Saturday and sigh, I'll be sitting under a shade tree in my UV50 coverup. #bitchbitchmoanmoan

  13. well. i did not get my touchups. but i did get a new tattoo which did involve a tear-out: My pug. Winston. Riding the red rocket. Which was really hilarious. Until I got a call 3/4 of the way through the tattoo that my mother passed away. Shout out to my pal Ollie for working like lightning to finish the tattoo before my ride showed up to go see my family. So some more to add to the arguement that a tattoo is more than just a silly picture on your skin. It's not just about "what" the tattoo is of or the "why"...but the "where" and "when" and "who" of the experience is of equal importance. A colourful timestamp for this lifetime. And now I'm left with a lot of sorrow to deal with, a good laugh and a great tattoo. Laughter is the best medicine. And my Mom really loved my idiot pug. But I think my next tattoo will be little more serious and carry a lot more weight. Peace.

Whoa, I did it and booked an appointment for my first tattoo! It's not until early November, but the inevitable 'what have I done' feeling is setting in already...I'll probably scrutinize instagram hourly to make sure I've made the right decision. I wished it wasn't soooo long!!

Ha! @hogg, not quite true. I've a pair of monmon cats as proof. I'll see you at the show. I hadn't signed up for Taki's walkthrough yet but might as well since I was going to check it out again anyway. I'll also be checking Bryan Burk's IG page afterwards, to see if anything gets posted there just in case you need a third tiger.

  20. Give it a little bit of time before doing anything. You posted recently that it hadn't peeled yet, and often when a tattoo hasn't totally healed the lines don't have the crispness that they will once the tattoo is properly settled in. This is maybe a tougher pill to swallow, but sometimes, even if there are bits that aren't perfect on the tattoo, that's okay because you're talking about something handmade on skin. It inevitably will have flaws and imperfections and that those are beautiful in their own way.

  22. Next update in the series lol I know its only every 6 months or so but I keep looking for changes, I don't see any yet still really. The thing I look at most is the females dark face, where Dmitriy put just a very slight nose shape/face, its really delicate and presume that will go first as ink spreads. Here is a fresh shot next to the one I took today, still has the same slight face. And the usual 6 monthly update. I managed to resize it so if you want it bigger just click on the photo and the on the photo on the next website to enlarge it if you want to :)

  28. Last week, Sarah Hurst of Vivid Tattoo, Knoxville, TN put a nice likeness of my submarine dolphins and SSBN patrol pin on my chest. My first ink at 61. I had seen a sailor getting a tattoo removed the old way - rock salt abrasion - back in the 70's when I was in, and that really scared me off (don't know what he had, but there was an old chief standing over him basically letting him now that if he cried out, he'd give him something to yelp about. Now, my grandfather served in both world wars. Lied about his age to get in WW1, and that I'm sure is when he got his tattoos. I only remember a couple of them - a cupie doll and a faked line. Someday I might get that faked line on my forearm. Maybe. I'm very pleased with my new ink. Not showy or perfect (the patrol pin has some wiggles and a run-away line, and the stars could be sharper). But, at only 4" (~10cm) wide, it has great detail - and the drop shadow was a neat surprise! These represent 10 patrols on USS Von Steuben SSBN632. A total underwater time of 2.5 years. Although my Lord and my family mean more to me, I don't have a design in mind that would represent the marks they have left on me. I guess that remains for me to represent.

Sounds like an awesome day! Dark Horse is a cool shop and on my side of town too. It's a small wonder how I've never gotten a tattoo there yet. August 2nd is also the day Junii's down in LA for her lecture as part of the Exhibit so you've great timing. I've rsvp'ed for it so I'll be down there too. Events | Perseverance | Japanese American National Museum You need to scroll down a bit for her lecture info. It looks like Taki will be there that day as well.

    what's it mean?

Money is a sensitive topic. ALL Americans don't feel the same way about anything... But for many, talk of money or how much we spent on things can make us uncomfortable. If if doesn't make you uncomfortable that's great for you, but just know if you are planning to ask others they may answer politely but still feel uncomfortable without you realizing it. If it's your close friends and family that's usually fine. Although I wouldn't want my mom asking me because she hates tattoos. When my husband and I bought our house, the first time we met our neighbor across the street, the first thing he asked was, "What'd you pay for it?" We answered because it's information you can find publicly on zillow.com anyway, yet we walked away from the conversation thinking that guy was rude. How about a "hello and welcome to the neighborhood" for crying out loud?!!!! I don't like talking about how much I paid for my tattoos either because it's a personal thing. To some people I spent too much. Clearly it was worth it to me. If they are really curious or want to know because they are saving up for their own tattoo I'm happy to tell them the artist's general hourly rate. I guess it really just depends on who's asking and why! Nothing is black and white. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  40. Give it some time, it looks fine and I don't see any reason to be concerned about it. There's a tremendous amount of variation in how tattoos heal. Speaking from personal experience, and just going on tattoos on my arms, so similar spots in terms of blood circulation and so on, I've had tattoos almost completely peeled in as short as five days after being tattooed to as long as two and a half to three weeks. There's nothing that looks bad about your tattoo.

  44. Sounds silly, but use a paperclip/safety pin/bit of thread to turn a normal bra into a racer back. It saves you buying one if you wouldn't normally wear one or as a stop gap until you find one.

    Full Back Piece Thread

Alright, luckily we got started late and could only do 5 hours. That was enough. I made the mistake of going in on Sunday for a deep tissue massage. That made everything extra tender and sensitive for Tuesday. Never get a massage before a tattoo. Just don't do it. This session covered hair, robes, wind bar/cloud touch-ups, adding orange to the fire. Also a healed butt shot. From Instagram danahelmuth; (Damn, looking at my butt up close, look at that scar tissue on the red in the snake! He beat me up.)
