  3. upcoming for me I have a large traditional anchor from Oliver Peck on my right thigh in October and a traditional tiger head on my left hand on 08/25 from Alycia Harr planned. I have been getting back to some good old fashioned american traditional lately.

  4. This thread is getting littered with cat references. It's within a whisker of being derailed.

  5. I don't want to be catty here, but mice doesn't begin to cover it. I love a good pun. I am deciding on what's next on my legs. I don't have an anchor, and I love a good American traditional anchor. That or a lighthouse. That may be what happens next! Better get on Josh's schedule!

Since @PinkUnicorn found the Smithsonian link, I'll share the Soldier's Medal pictures with you. I don't think I've ever posted them on line before. The glare is the camera flash. It is awarded with two certificates - the award certificate as well as a narrative certificate. Most other medals only have the award certificate. I have them framed along with the eagle rank insignias that was able to recover from the locker in my office several weeks later and a picture of the Pentagon showing the destruction.

  13. I'm pretty allergic but don't get the abscesses/ulcers only giant, itchy red spots. Last night, I broke down and put some hydrocortisone on the area. Had too. I don't trust myself when I sleep not to scratch the hell out of them. I'll be fine but had to rant. :) @Paulus @Devious6

  15. Apparently, mosquitos like freshly healing tattoos. 30 minutes outside and boom, I have six bites IN my new tattoo. I'm just a little more than annoyed.

AT works really well on my legs, and I want to fill out some smaller spaces. Love American traditional SO MUCH. Can't wait to see your upcoming pieces, @Dan!

  19. I don't have a wrist tattoo but it probably depends on the person. A man would have wider wrists and therefore slightly bigger would look better than a woman? My tattoo artist printed out a few different sizes on the day and let me test them to see which one fitted best, I think that's the best way to tell.

  20. i mean to each their own right but i really dislike those microscript tattoos i mean - i generally love most tattoos and the execution can be off and the design can be off but when its too small not readable well - i just dont get that at all i know that its kinda popular i'm on a cruise right now and there are tons of these microscript tattoos walking about meh

    Inner wrist tattoo size

just don't get an upside down script because it's "for you". if you do, as small as possible, like a 1x1mm total size.

  22. you got your artist picked out yet do this first then ask them bigger is better in the long run for many reasons primarily for the immediate and long term readability of the piece

  23. I leave the original Saniderm that was applied after the tattoo for 48 hours. Then I clean it and dry heal the rest of the way. This is mostly because I don't have any Saniderm at home, but it works really well for me.

I was asked to donate my uniform and original award from that day - never thought it would be featured as a part of the exhibition. The award was the original one I received. I honestly didn't want one - I did then and still do feel that I was doing what I should have done. It was my responsibility to protect and help others. After time, people who were there submitted a request to have the award upgraded - without my knowledge - and I was ultimately awarded The Soldier's Medal at my retirement ceremony a little more than two years later. That truly humbled me. Thanks for the kind words. It was my honor to serve and I am grateful to have been able to help that day.

    Sleeves!

I have always liked both. i really like the "flash style" with some unique filler. but nothing that takes away from the individual pieces. this is a cool idea with like fishscale filler. (not my tattoo)

    Hand Tattoos

I posted these in the new tattoos thread but here are my hands by Guen Douglas. They hurt like a bitch and I had a shitty heal (they need a few touch ups but neither of us are in a hurry!) really happy I have them done. I've got full coverage on arms and most of legs but not torso - partly because this is where I want my biggest pieces - but to get my hands done was very symbolic of committing myself to tattooing. No going back to teaching for me! Plus I just feel more 'me'. Hard to explain but I reckon someone gets it.
