Star Wars tattoos

Couple of sheets from the shop painted by Derek Ward. People have actually gotten quite a few off these sheets. I think he sells prints of these but it's a five sheet set combined with two halloween and one christmas sheet.

The Force in the Flesh: A Celebration of Star Wars Tattoo Art

A friend of mine here in town (Edmonton, AB Canada) compiled this book of Star Wars themed tattoos and published it a few years ago. It's an excellent book. And the author Shane Turgeon, he is a swell guy too...he owns a local shop called Shades of Grey that does tattoos and sells comics and vintage toy collections.

I've seen quite a few sugar skull stormtroopers floating around...

Star Wars is ripe subject matter.

I put these light sabers on the biggest Star Wars fan I've ever met... Literally!

This dude was 6'9" and made the shop look tiny every time he came in!

I figure since I'm a Star Wars nerd and recently got a Star Wars Tattoo, I'll post it here. It's from a Derek Ward Flash Set and done by Todd Lamere at Body Art Tattoo. This is only 5 days into healing so I'm sure it will look a bit different.

    • Its not rude to ask your tattooer for their rate. It is rude to ask various artists for prices on a design and price hunt. Show that you intent to get tattooed by the artist you want and ask for price once everything else is done.  I always ask how much the tattoo will be, but I do it last. If you hear artists complain, its from people who price hunt and dont really want a tattoo, they just want a deal. Tattoo prices vary, based on so many different factors. Only the artist doing the tattoo can tell you how much a design will be.
    • You can ask what the tattoo artist's hourly rate is, and how long you should book the appointment for - then run the math (and factor in a tip to leave).
    • If your friend is willing to take a little drive Tony R. at Ancient Art tattoo in Virginia Beach is a very talented artist
