  1. This is what I got yesterday by Eterno, spanish tattoo artist. Really happy with the result!

  2. It is way in the bowels of his instagram. That is a good thing to not have comparisons! I have mad respect for anyone with large work from Greg for that reason, haha.

  3. Different person and different body section, obviously, but to give you an idea, my s/o had his chest done by Greg (the Kali riding a lion chest piece) and Greg lined it in around 4.5 hours (!). If there is one blessing it is that that man is a speed demon, like you said. He also is pretty heavy handed in my experience, but there's the trade off! :) I remember at struggle points he was always very encouraging. Eat lots of lollipops. Best of luck, stoked to see what you get!

  8. Great thread! This is why I love LST! I live in an environment where none of my friends have any interest whatsoever in tattoos. It is hard enough for them to get past the notion that I am tattooed. So asking them for their thoughts on coordinating clothing with tattoos would be a hilarious non-starter. But here, you get dozens of people who think about the same thing, and have ideas to share, and its no big deal. Thanks you guys! - - - Updated - - - I don't show my tattoos very much in my normal environment. But when we are on vacation away from home I do. In that case, if I am just out and about, I don't think much about coordinating my clothes. But if we are going out to dinner at a nice restaurant or something like that, and if am going to let my sleeves show, I generally tend toward solid colors, and black or charcoal, because it doesn't clash with the patterns of my tattoos. I like white too, because it really lets the tattoos take the lead because of the contrast. One of my favorite looks if I really want to rock my tattoos is a sleeveless white turtleneck. You have all of that pure white, and then "Pow!" – these colorful arms pop out of the sleeve openings. Love it.

  9. I have wondered about this too. Some people say that tattoos without outlines, that are based on subtle shading without skin showing through will be indiscernible smears of color in 30 years. I know that tattoos fade, and I understand the point of view that says "Don't worry about the future. Enjoy it now." But I do want my tattoos to look as good as possible 30 years from now, even if I am old an wrinkled. If I can make choices now that will maximize the chances of looking good in the future, it is a win-win.

  12. for an abbreviated version of this post, just read the bold font. (<-- product of medication) I haven't had a session on my back piece in over a year since Jondix hasn't been back to the SFO Convention and I haven't been able to make my way across the pond. well... he's finally coming back to the states in July, so I'm booked for a session in New York! This will be my first time there, so I'm pretty excited about that aspect in and of itself. I have some time to dig thru some threads on healing the back while traveling... i imagine them saying something along the lines of, "it's a bitch. i loved it." Since I have no idea when I might ever get back to NY**, I'm also trying to get a little one shot something from Chris Garver. Not sure what or where quite yet, but it's in the works. Those two are already pushing the budget and pain thresholds, but there's so many great artists and shops out there! Picking a piece from flash off the wall at Smith Street immediately comes to mind. I may have to consider selling some of my unwanted material possessions on Crackslist and suck it up for perhaps a once in a lifetime chance. ** my wife and i want to travel to handful of different places, so returning to NY would have to come after getting thru the list. Atop the list for me is Barcelona to have Jondix finish my back!! That's "upcoming" in hopefully a year or two.

  19. It's been awhile - I've just gotten organised to finish my arm sleeve in March (not looking forward to the ditch/ elbow) but super stoked to be done! Added a leg tattoo this winter - Alice illustration done by Jennifer Bowes at the Pearl in Toronto - I must say the thigh is a total pleasure after the inner arm experience!

  20. I don't have a pic yet, but Horitomo of state of Grace outlined and detailed my 2/3 sleeve dragon on Sat. It is wonderful - actually looks like lace (I'm female and I guess he made the lines delicate because of that)! Makes me almost - almost - not want it colored in. When it is healed a bit, I'll see if I can get a pic of this stage.

  21. Finally finished my 2/3rd sleeve by Sarah Hurst @ Vivid Tattoo Knoxville. If you have me on Instagram, there is a crappy phone photo there. I don't know if my tablet can post them in the browser, and Tapatalk is still broke for posting here.

  23. If you follow me at all on Instagram or Facebook...you've probably seen this. I'm pretty much obsessed with my latest tattoo from Jim Sylvia. As a Bowie fanatic, and a cat lover.... all arrows pointed toward me needing this tattoo that I got last night. It's a great feeling you get when you pick the right person for the job. I had never met Jim before, but have been admiring his work for the past couple years. Finally figured out what I needed from him. Great guy. Solid, talented, skilled, accomodating. <3

  24. Maybe the contest could run every so often, once there are a certain number of entries, which are then revealed all at once. I like the idea of not posting the artist's name until afterwards.

  25. From yesterday by the the all mighty Marius Meyer. Super rad guy with a burning passion for tattooing. Everybody should get something from him. As for me, this means I'll be going to job interviews in turtleneck sweaters for the rest of my life.

  27. I agree with you byzantine, I think I will keep these design for other tattos and will choose something which suits better the artist style. I already booked flight and paid the deposit, so I will not wait more and get something.
